We've already seen Nokia's Maemo 5-powered N900 pull off some pretty fanciful tricks, but without qualification this is the one most dear to our hearts. Somehow or another, Konttori managed to get his palms around an N900 of his own, and rather than testing out the social networking abilities or battery life, he simply installed an SNES emulator, tweaked it to accept Wiimote controls and even connected it to his TV for a staggeringly authentic gameplay experience. Vicarious living is just a click or two away, so hop on past the break for a video of the action. Oh, and don't mind the baby -- he's not in the corner or anything.

iPhone and Wiimote brought together by Bluetooth

It's been a long time going, but it looks like the invisible divide between the iPhone and the Wii remote has finally been bridged through the magic of Bluetooth. That was apparently made possible thanks to the portable Bluetooth stack from the BTStack project, which got paired with some custom OpenGL-ES code to allow the Wiimote to control a virtual representation of itself on the iPhone. Practical? Of course not. But it's a Wiimote controlling an iPhone. Video after the break.

Zeetoo's Zeemote: the Wiimote for your cellphone

Zeetoo's Zeemote has actually been around the block a time or two before, but now it looks like this drawing board darling has grown legs. Reportedly, the Boston-area firm has secured some €4.7 million ($6.9 million) in funding from Nauta, Commonwealth Ventures and Egan Capital, which it will likely use to further develop and commercialize a wireless joystick for mobiles that looks (and sounds) strikingly similar to some other peripheral we've grown fond of. The Zeemote would purportedly communicate via Bluetooth in order to make gaming slightly more palatable on vanilla handsets, but we can't say we're champing at the bit to clutter up our precious pocket space with one of these things anytime soon.

Wiimote used to control Nokia N95

Just in case you've somehow managed to control everything else in your world with Wiimotes, why not your lovely N95? Thanks to a team at the University of Applied Sciences in Hagenberg, Austria, users with an S60 handset can now control games with Nintendo's fun-lovin' controller. WiiConnect, which is a Bluetooth driver for S60 phones, "enables you to play party games directly on / through your mobile phone," all while taking advantage of the accelerometer and rumble functionality. As an added bonus, the team also crafted WiiRider, a motorcycle simulation that utilizes the Wiimote's features. We know, you're already eager to know how much this time waster is gonna cost ya, but we've got excellent news: it's being provided as freeware in the read link below.
