Cupcake Android update coming to G1 in April


Well, after weeks of speculations and false alarms, it looks like T-Mobile's officially saying the "Cupcake" Android update will hit the G1 sometime next month. That's at least the word according to the T-Mo spokeperson Pocket-lint got hold of -- who went out of his way to disclaim any connection with the upcoming launch of the HTC Magic. In any event, we're hoping all this bake time has fixed some of those bugs and lag problems, but we'll see in a few weeks.

Sidekick III shows up on the FCC

As soon as a Sharp-made handset shows up on the FCC with a whole bunch of confidentiality-request paperwork affixed, you know it's gonna be good. Sidekick fans, feast your eyes on the real deal up in the grill (yep, all those pics were legit), and the um, naked, battery-less tail end of the Sidekick III (model PV200). Can't be long now, can it? And yes, this pretty much confirms much of the info we'd already heard about the forthcoming device: 1.3 megapixel camera, expandable memory (miniSD), and Bluetooth.

T-Mobile's SDA reviewed

We've been spending some quality time with T-Mobile's SDA Windows Mobile 5.0 Smartphone. The $300 phone boasts some pretty good features for the price, including EDGE data, Bluetooth, a QVGA screen, and a 1.3 megapixel camera. The real kicker is the WiFi connectivity lacking in its 2125 cousin from Cingular, but how does it hold up under rigorous solitaire play and indiscriminate texting of ex-lovers?
