Sony Ericsson Idou, now in silver?

So far, we've only seen the Idou in black, but Sony Ericsson does like to play with the palette -- and sure enough, we're now seeing a shot of a silver model for the first time. SEMC Blog doesn't know whether this is a canceled or to-be-announced version, but like everyone, we're hoping it's the latter.

After missing its July release target by a country mile, we'd thought the Silver may have been canned -- but nope, she's alive and well, strutting her stuff for a few privileged hands around the world. The HSDPA 7.2Mbps handset with GPS and WiFi takes the original candybar Pearl's wildly successful format and applies a hearty dose of Windows Mobile Standard -- not a concept that's going to appeal to everyone, but for the S740 shoppers of the world, a totally viable alternative. So we know Vodafone has a keen eye on releasing this; anyone else?

We've already known about burgundy and black versions of RIM's first flip, but silver? Sure looks like it from new images posted on Spanish site miblackberry.com, and frankly, we think it's the most flattering color combo we've seen to date. Then again, the phone is so frickin' huge in person that it could end up being a totally excessive amount of shiny, metallic plastic in your face when you crack it open -- but from the press shots, at least, color us impressed (pun intended). T-Mobile, any interest in this one, too?

LG's silver Prada gets a new on-screen QWERTY

Mmmm, the LG Prada (AKA, LG-KE850) was just turned out in silver. 18 European countries including the UK, France, Germany, Spain and Italy will see the new version of LG's touchscreen later this month. Besides the color change the phone now features a proper on-screen QWERTY, not just T9 -- thank you LG! Really, that's all we could hope for.

HP's Pearl -- er, "Silver" smartphone

Palm's not the only company bringing some new Windows Mobile kit to Vodafone this year -- Boy Genius Report's scoopage of Voda's '08 lineup includes a new HP, too. The "Silver" (a codename, we assume) should put the kinda sad iPAQ 510 out of business and appears to take a page straight outta the Pearl's book, right down to the WiFi, GPS, and SureType keyboard (which is surprisingly actually identified as "SureType," a RIM trademark). Unlike the Pearl, though, this sucker rocks Windows Mobile 6 Standard and HSDPA -- a whopping 7.2Mbps of it. Look for it in July for about £250 ($494).

Isabodywear underwear fends off cellphone radiation

If you thought donning tin foil caps was excessive, Isabodywear is out to make those contraptions looks mighty mild. While the debate about just how dangerous (or not) cellphone radiation is still rages on, there's certainly a paranoid sect that will snap up anything that claims to "protect them," and this Swiss garb maker is latching onto said opportunity. The briefs are purportedly constructed with threads made of silver, which the company claims will fend off harmful cellphone radiation; moreover, in an effort to really prove just how effective these undergarments are, it suggests that phone calls originated within the confines of your new underwear simply won't connect. Reportedly, 4,000 pairs have been created so far, and for folks willing to give these a try and fill out a survey, the first 500 of you to email in and request one will seemingly have one sent out gratis. There's no word on when you can expect the Slipways to hit the market, but they should sell for CHF29.90 ($24) apiece when retailers start stocking.
