Nothing says Christmas like a jauntily doffed Santa hat and a big cellphone blowout list, of course. Orange has such a list but instead of heading into new and slick territory like its neighbor Vodafone, they've just broken out the pastels and had a coloring session. Featuring the LG Shine, Samsung F210, and Sony Ericsson's W580i and W200i, sound hot? yeah, kinda, except they're all in pink. We'll also see the launch of the Sammy U600 in purple and the Sony Ericsson W910, in red. Here's hoping there's something else under the tree from Orange during the holidays this year, because we just aren't getting a festive feel from that lot.

It's been almost a full year since we first spotted the Swiss Army Phone better known as the iPaq hw6900, and after endless teasing and false starts, Cingular will finally start selling this highly-anticipated jack-of-all-trades starting on October 31st. We have to admit that we're not quite as excited about the hw6920 / hw6925 (with / without camera) as we were, like, nine months ago, but its release is still notable due to the fact that it'll be one of the first mass-market US smartphones to include integrated GPS hardware and software (in the form of TeleNav's GPS Navigator). As you're probably well aware from both the official and leaked spec sheets we've covered, this 416MHz, Windows Mobile 5.0 AKU2-powered handset also features Bluetooth with A2DP, 802.11g, a 1.3 megapixel camera, miniSD slot, reportedly-loud keyboard, and frustrating 240 x 240 pixel screen. The only other major downside here is the lack of a 3G radio, although the GPRS / EDGE capabilities should offer decent connectivity while you search for the nearest hotspot. Obviously having your cake and (almost) eating it too doesn't come cheap, as the hw6920 will start at $360 with a two-year contract and continue to climb skyward.

Even if you're a die-hard Palm or Windows Mobile fan, it's hard to deny the appeal of Nokia's N-series lineup of S60-powered "multimedia computers," whose connectivity and imaging options are some of the best you can find on a smartphone today. As promised, the company has just officially released both the N73 (pictured, bottom) and N93 (pictured, top) handsets that we've been following for some time, and although you probably won't be able to pick them up through traditional channels, we know that they'll definitely be available at your local Nokia retail outlet. As a quick refresher, both of the phones (we know, we know, we're not supposed to call them phones) are highlighted by 3.2 megapixel, Zeiss lens-equipped cameras, with the N93 throwing in a 3x optical zoom and support for 30fps VGA video. Both models also feature high-res 2.4-inch displays, Bluetooth radios, a miniSD slot for image capture or rocking tunes, and quad-band GSM plus 3G UMTS capability. On top of all these attractive features, the N93 also gives you built-in WiFi with UPnP functionality, video out for replaying your precious memories on a big screen, and what sounds like better-than-average in-camera editing. We're still gonna stick with our current smartphones for now, but these models are so hot that we're seriously reconsidering our snobby insistence on rocking those handy QWERTY thumboards at all times.

New Softbank property Vodafone K.K. has announced four new 3G handsets -- along with the 2G Toshiba V304T "simplephone" -- that will be released this summer in Japan, including Sharp's 905SH clamshell with a 2 megapixel camera and One Seg digital TV reception. Also seen before was Voda's version of Nokia's N71, dubbed the 804NK, which sports those same multimedia and smartphone features along with obvious addition of bilingual menus. Like the three models mentioned previously, the Toshiba 705T and Sharp 705SH SLIMIA also sport clamshell designs, with the Tosh featuring external music controls and the Sharp (pictured) rocking dual cameras. Additionally, a sixth model, Sharp's 2G V403SH (also a flip phone), was announced as getting a summer makeover, and will now come in your choice of cloth beige or cloth blue.

Customers looking for a no-nonsense clamshell that does Bluetooth on the cheap now have a new option from T-Mobile in the form of Nokia's dual display-packin' 6103. This tri-band flip phone, which is a followup to the company's 6101 "Buttons for Humans" model, doesn't offer much in the way of features -- besides Bluetooth, all that's notable here are the FM radio and VGA camera -- but you can pick one up for the low low price of $70 after rebates.
