Verizon gets PN-820 Smartphone out the door

It may not quite sport the visual appeal of HTC's Star Trek, but Verizon customers looking for a flip phone of the "smart" variety are feasting their eyes on the only game in town. The Pantech-sourced PN-820 holds its own on the spec sheet with 128MB of onboard storage, miniSD expansion, a 1.3 megapixel cam, color external display, Bluetooth, and that life-giving EV-DO radio. We could admittedly do without the stub antenna, but hey, at $150 on a two year contract, we're not sure we have room to complain.

Verizon Wireless set to launch Samsung U740

We didn't think it would be too long after CES that the dual-hinged Sammy U740 would make its way to Verizon Wireless, and we were right. Looks like the Samsung will launch February 6th and will be priced at $149.99 on a (gulp) two year contract, $219.99 on a one year contract, and $269.99 full retail. It sports a 262,000 color display, a 1.3 megapixel camera, Bluetooth, and expandable memory. Lets cross our fingers and hope they don't pull a PN-820-style wait on us.

Verizon Wireless branded Pantech PN-820 pictures leaked

It looks like our favorite mobile tipster Roc A Fella is at it again. This time he shows us the soon to be released Pantech PN-820 for Verizon Wireless, latest addition to their growing PDA lineup. This clamshell bad boy runs on Windows Mobile 5.0 Smartphone with an EV-DO dual band radio, 1.3 megapixel camera, expandable memory via miniSD, Bluetooth, and a QVGA display. Pantech has updated the color scheme from what we previously have seen, and we like it way more seeing how the all-black scheme might be a fingerprint magnet. Look for the device as an exclusive on the web and B2B on 12/18 and in retail on 12/29. The pricing isn't confirmed yet, so stay tuned for that tidbit. Check out more pictures after the break!

Pantech's WM5-powered PN-820 clamshell for Verizon

PhoneArena has once again and gotten the dirt on a new handset, and a pretty hot one at that: a Windows Mobile-powered Pantech flip phone that's supposedly heading straight to Verizon. Courtesy of extensive documentation from our friends at the FCC, the PhoneArena gang learned that the PN-820 clamshell runs on WM5 for Smartphones, sports a 1.3 megapixel camera and miniSD slot, and perhaps best of all, has all of your networking needs covered with both WiFi and Bluetooth (well, not all of them -- cellular data seems to max out at 1xRTT). While certainly not the hottest PocketPC clamshell we've seen (that honor goes to the HTC Star Trek), the PN-120 should still be one of the easiest ways to slide WM5 into your pocket once it hits stores.
