LG KC910 Renoir gets closely inspected, is clearly photogenic

Oh sure, you've seen LG's KC910 (or Renoir, if you prefer) out in the wild before, but our kid brothers and sisters over at Engadget Spanish were able to get up close and personal with the 8-megapixel handset during its formal introduction in Spain. Specs wise, there's nothing to discuss that you aren't already familiar with, but if you just can't get enough imagery of the fanciful device, you can gorge some more by hitting the read link.

Based on what we've learned about LG's KC910 (or the Renoir, as it's affectionately known), we had all ideas it was being reserved for corners of the globe not named USA. But after taking one look at the specifications on the outfit's Global web portal, we're beginning to have second thoughts. Granted, this whole thing could just be a copy and paste blunder, but the 8-megapixel cellie sure shows up as having support for 850/900/1800/1900 GSM bands. Everything else looks par for the course, but we'd be lying if we said we weren't a wee bit excited about the possibilities here. Hold tight -- we'll be keeping an ear to the ground for more details.

LG's 8-megapixel Renoir handset gets previewed, handled

We were already warned that the megapixel race was headed to the mobile realm, and as if you needed any more proof, here we are looking down the lens of LG's 8-megapixel Renoir. Clearly aimed at Samsung's recently unveiled Pixon, this touchscreen-based handset found itself in the loving arms of CNET's UK branch. During the limited time editors spent with it, they found the interface to be eerily similar to that found on the Viewty and the camera to be a real winner. As expected, the not-a-3.5mm headphone jack was none too pleasing to critics, but we did overhear the T-Mobile G1 voicing its support of the port. Yeah, we've seen the PR, ogled the specs, but real honest-to-goodness pics are doing nothing but make our grins bigger. LG's KC910 packs everything under the sun into its newest and flashiest handset, from an 8 megapixel cannon to Dolby Mobile, GPS, WiFi, Bluetooth, 7.2Mbps HSDPA, this will be a tough review unit to return if we get our paws on one. Apparently still slated for an October release, we've no word on pricing, but you can expect it to sting dearly off-contract. We'll be following this set really closely, so do swing back and we'll be sure to tell ya what we find out. Follow the read link to get the pics

LG's KC910 one-ups the Viewty, ships in October

LG's cover was blown late last month with the early unveiling of the KC910, but it's hard to ignore that warm, fuzzy feeling one gets when any outfit doles out the official verbiage as confirmation. The self-proclaimed Viewty successor (formally dubbed the LG-KC910) looks mighty fine on paper, with a 3-inch WQVGA touchscreen, 8-megapixel camera (with Schneider-Kreuznach certified optics and a Xenon flash), geotagging support, Dolby Mobile, video recording, A-GPS, 7.2Mbps HSDPA and integrated WiFi. Regrettably, LG failed to pass along the most pressing morsel of news (read: the price), but at least we know it'll be available somewhere in the world this October.

LG's KC910 takes over where Viewty left off, packs 8MP camera

Nah, it ain't the Prada II or anything, but who's to argue with an 8-megapixel camera? You heard right -- LG's followup to the Viewty is the KC910, a touchscreen-based handset that checks in at 14-millimeters thick and supports quad-band GSM / 7.2Mbps HSDPA. Furthermore, you'll find Bluetooth 2.0, WiFi, a 3-inch 400 x 240 resolution display, a microSD expansion slot, Xenon flash (alongside a Schneider-Kreuznach lens), video recording, TV output, a multimedia player (with DivX and XviD support, we're told) and built-in GPS. This feature-packed device is bruited to be on track for an October launch, though we've no idea how costly it'll be (nor what regions it will invade).
