Palm Pixi arrives early for the people of Walmart

Brush back that mullet and adjust your ill-fitting halter tops folks 'cause Palm's newest webOS device has been spotted at Walmart. This pair of Pixi lovelies was ogled overnight inside one of Sam Walton's finest Tennessee locations reportedly sporting a $400 price tag and little else -- it wasn't in Walmart's system so it wasn't yet available for purchase. Something that should be rectified in time for Sunday's official launch with Sprint ($100 on contract) if not sooner.

Nokia 2220 possibly spotted, clearly has no XpressMusic aspirations

Though Nokia's well-known for its midrange and high-end handsets, the meat and potatoes operation might be the low end -- take the venerable 1100, for example, which is kind of a big deal seeing how it's the best-selling phone in history. That's why phones like this rumored 2220 here are important, even though it won't make much of a PR splash when Nokia finally gets around to announcing it. The sleek slider keeps things ultra-simple with a VGA cam and a dual-band GSM radio, but it still manages to pack a 3.5mm jack, Series 40 (as opposed to the bare-bones Series 30), and an FM tuner. Look for it this quarter in select markets if the insider info here pans out.

Nokia's 5230 inches closer to release, gets spied along the way

Nokia's 5230 isn't apt to blow any minds with the likes of the HD2, Droid and XPERIA X3 on the horizon, but for those perfectly content with a touchscreen-based Symbian S60 5th Edition handset, this one sure looks purty. After dipping its toes in the FCC's expansive database just last month, a crop of new in the wild shots have surfaced to show off its 3.2-inch display (640 x 360), 2 megapixel camera, Bluetooth 2.0+EDR module and variety of colorful backs. Hit the read link for more pixels if you're so inclined, and feel free to take the "January 2010" release date in with a dose of NaCl.

BlackBerry Storm 2 accessories roll into Best Buy

Silicone skins for the Storm 2 are starting to find their way into shipments destined to Best Buy stores around the country, another solid signal that RIM's second touchscreen effort is hitting retail sooner rather than later. What we found amusing about this first batch is that the packaging seems conflicted about what to call the thing -- 9550, Storm II (as opposed to Storm2 or Storm 2, interestingly), and even the phone's codename Odin all make appearances front and center. We suppose they're just trying to make it crystal clear what phone the skin's intended for, and with leaks going back a solid year, you've got to cover all your bases.

Palm Pixi stares GSM in the face, lives to brag about it

Though nothing's been announced, betting against a GSM version of the Palm Pixi would be a foolish move. There's certainly no mistaking that "E" for Edge logo and SIM slot beneath the battery in these leaked images from Vietnam (yes, again). Oddly, this particular GSM variant pictured only contains 4GB of internal storage vs. the 8GB model announced for Sprint. Perhaps a prototype limitation only? Let's hope.

BlackBerry Essex spotted, ready to add WiFi to Tour?

This looks an awful lot like an Onyx to us, but Salomondrin -- who has posted several blurry shots of this puppy -- claims it's the mythical Essex, a Tour refresh that should make CDMA BlackBerry fans very happy. Why? Well, first, there's the apparent addition of WiFi, something that we've heard was bound to happen sooner or later; secondly, the Tour's infamously finicky trackball has been tossed to the wayside in favor of a trackpad, yet another signal that RIM's looking to ditch trackballs altogether. It's also said to have a better camera, though the definition of "better" in this context remains unclear; also unclear is a release date, but considering that the Tour's still minty fresh on store shelves, we wouldn't realistically expect it until mid-2010.

Surely you're not tired of seeing the BlackBerry Bold 9700 yet are you. A handset described as "the most gorgeous BlackBerry on the planet" in early previews deserves a few more minutes in the spotlight, be it official or not. Vietnamese site tinh te returns with some of the best leaked shots and video we've seen to date giving us a crystal clear look at the 9700's orange AT&T splash-screen, real pleather battery cover, and squircle trackpad. HTC Pure starting to show up in AT&T stores, not for sale just yet

We'll withhold judgment until we have a far more intimate encounter with the device, but at a glance, the HTC Pure -- AT&T's branded, customized version of the Touch Diamond2 -- might carry the least-exciting industrial design of any variant launched thus far. Considering the business-oriented clientele, that might not be a big deal for the phone's bottom line -- but when you take a look at the slightly better-equipped Imagio that's about to launch over on Verizon, we would've liked to have seen something with a little more spunk here. At any rate, it seems Pure units are starting to flow into AT&T retail locations, which inevitably leads to some time in front of the bright lights and camera; AT&T was mentioned as one of Microsoft's global launch partners for Windows Mobile 6.5 on October 6, so if we connect the dots, we're guessing this is the phone that's gonna make it all happen. So where's that Touch Pro2, then, eh?

Motorola Tao's photographer zooms out a little, better shot ensues

Now that the Sholes has seemingly been gifted with a less bizarre, less reminds-us-of-a-shoe-insert name, pictures and specs of the so-called Tao are starting to flow en masse -- just in time for a possible introduction at next week's CTIA show out in San Diego (we can only hope, anyway). The first round of in-the-wild shots really didn't reveal much of anything, but the cameraman has elected to apply just enough wide-angle this time around to give us a full-on view of the high-end Android beast in its closed position -- and if this is what we're going to be getting on Verizon shelves, HTC (and heck, even Moto's own CLIQ) should be on high alert. So, who'd switch to Verizon for this?

Samsung's SCH-W880 12 megapixel phonecamera with 3x optical zoom

In a welcome reversal of trends, Samsung just stuffed a 3G cellphone into a 12 megapixel camera making this M8920 / SCH-W880 more of a camera than most 12 megapixel cameraphones can claim. While this presumed follow-up to Samsung's Pixon 12 (M8910) isn't official, the announcement looks imminent based on the leaked collateral above and the spyshots that emerged over the weekend. What's impressive here is that extending 3x optical zoom -- something carried over from the SCH-B600 -- and dedicated camera controls like a mode dial, shutter and zoom, and big 3.3-inch WVGA AMOLED display. Rounding out the specs are HD (720p presumably) video, HSDPA data, WiFi, GPS, Bluetooth, microSD slot, and DMB mobile television; that latter spec making this Korea-only whenever it does launch. Samsung's Instinct HD lands itself a quick video hands-on

At this point we're a little bored of the Instinct HD leaks, especially now that it's been saddled with that hefty $250 pricetag, but how about a detailed video hands-on for olde tymes sake? Interestingly, on video we're shown the location of the mythic HDMI out port, though it's covered up by a flap, and we'd say that in motion the phone doesn't look as terribly chubby as those blurry photos made it out to be -- who says TV adds 10 pounds? Video is after the break.

It's sort of outrageous how much publicity AT&T's very own femtocell has garnered here lately, particularly when you realize that it's limited to the Charlotte, North Carolina area alone. But look -- did you really expect us to pass up what appears to be the very first unboxing of the 3G MicroCell? No, you didn't. Is this Sony Ericsson's Android-powered XPERIA X3?

As always, Mr. Blurrycam isn't doing us any favors here, but we're cautiously optimistic that the image you see above is one of the first real glimpses at Sony Ericsson's forthcoming XPERIA X3. Granted, the WinMo-packin' X2 is still in its infancy, but every true SE fanboy knows that Android is where it's at. The skin, which is obviously early in development, is definitely unlike anything we've ever seen, and while we can't make out much about the hardware, the general shape certainly jibes with what we'd expect an X3 to look like. Le0n_Pro's original post is down there in the read link, but we just couldn't leave well enough alone; thankfully, he was kind enough to gift us with a gallery's worth of (admittedly shaky) shots. Dig in!

LG's New Chocolate BL20 spotted in the wild

Calling LG's New Chocolate BL20 half of the BL40 would probably be classified as logorrhea, but there's no doubt that this slider is handsome. So handsome, in fact, that LG has seen fit to showcase it over in the company's new building in Amstelveen, Holland. GSMArena was able to snap a few pics of the installation while also gathering that it'll boast a non-touch edition of the S-Class UI.Hit the read link for a few more looks -- it ought to make waiting for LG to actually announce this thing a lot easier.
