Nokia N78 video hands-on

We unboxed this little N-series wonder yesterday, but if you've still got a hankering for more N78, there's a video after the break that should uncover all its magical wares. Or maybe it just shows us messing around with the phone for a few minutes with no real purpose or direction. One of those.

ASUS' new touchscreen GUI prettifies Windows Mobile 6.1

Regardless of the cause, we certainly like the trend of these enhanced touch-screen UIs dominating the high-end cellphone market. Now meet ASUS' GUI slickness destined for their newest touchscreen devices including the ZX1. Starting with a Windows Mobile 6.1 core, ASUS slathers on a new customizable Multi-Home 3D interface meant to simplify access to your today screen, life and business applications. Think HTC's TouchFlo only sexier. ASUS even threw in some "album cover flow" to the media app and the ability to more easily manipulate all your digital media with enhanced figure gestures. You can even drop everything into a visual carousel if that's your preference. See for yourself in the video after the break.

Video: HTC Touch's TouchFLO interface

We've been fooling around with HTC's Touch, which comes equipped with the redundantly named TouchFLO shell / UI add-on for Windows Mobile. It's a pretty quick video, so check it out if you wanted to see how exactly this thing works with the sweeping motions of your finger. (Apologies in advance for its low-fi-ness, we only had our crappy point-and-shoot handy when shooting.)

Samsung Ultra Messaging: a peek at the future of Windows Mobile

We're not at liberty to say how, but we acquired some exclusive footage of Samsung's new Ultra Messaging device, which is going to be hitting Asian shelves in short order. What's so special about this particular brand of i600? Check out the interface. We've seen some future builds of Windows Mobile beyond the now-current 6.0, and this is starting to look very familiar. If this is where WinMo's headed, sign us up -- let's just hope all the stuff behind the home screen gets cleaned up this nice, yeah? Don't be surprised if at some point the Samsung Ultra Messaging (or at least its UI) starts to to head westward across the globe.

Check out the gallery, or check out the video, whatever you like. Player and downloads after the break.
