Stuffed Care Bears head is a perfect phone holster, complete nightmare

Not going to lie here -- we're having a really tough time determining whether this is just mildly weird, astonishingly strange or adorably cute. While we wrestle with our emotions, we'll candidly explain that this stuffed Care Bears head does nothing more than hold your cellphone and cast dubious glances in your direction. If that's all you need to be happy, you can snag yours now for $13.27. Just don't be alarmed when guests begin making up excuses to bounce approximately 3.9 seconds after seeing this on the kitchen table, okay?

mophie's iPhone 3G Juice Pack unboxed and tested: high marks all around

Curious to know if your Benjamin will be well spent on mophie's iPhone 3G Juice Pack? TestFreaks is out to make sure you have an accurate answer to that, and judging by their report after two solid weeks of usage, the response is an emphatic "yes." Not only was the device sleek enough to not be incredibly cumbersome, but it actually performed as advertised. Reviewers were able to get their iPhone 3G from near-death to fully charged (twice!) on a single mophie charge, leading them to conclude that it "basically doubles the run time of the iPhone 3G" in a worse case scenario. Granted, even they couldn't overlook the particularly large price tag, but if you've been running bone dry with any level of frequency, we suspect the asking price won't matter nearly as much.

iPhone 3G Dock / Universal Dock Adapters now on sale

For many, dropping $199 / $299 on an iPhone 3G (provided you actually locate one not hidden behind a 4+ hour line) is enough. For those who fell head over heels with the original iPhone dock, it's not. Here's your chance to send 29 more US bucks Cupertino's way, as the official iPhone 3G Dock is now on sale at Apple's website. Oh, and if you're really a sucker, you'll lay down 9 whole US dollars for a 3-pack of iPhone 3G Universal Dock Adapters to slip your new mobile into a Universal Dock.

Update: So apparently these have been in Apple stores since day 1. Considering just how long it'll take to get in one, though, this whole "online route" is still probably your best bet.

Emergency travel charger plays nice with Palm's Multi-Connector

Oh sure, there's a plethora of portable USB chargers out there to keep most every cellphone around juiced up for one last call, but those handling a Palm handset with the polarizing Multi-Connector have long been shut out cold -- until now. Tech Center Labs has just come to the rescue with its Tiny Emergency FuelCell, which holds a single AA and enables power to be passed along to Centros and any other Palm / Treo device with the proprietary connector. Best of all, the pocket-friendly device is just $9.95 (or $10.95 with a bundled battery). Not a bad way to spend a Hamilton if you're a Palm lover.

The all-in-one Mobile Stand enables your phone's LCD to be easily viewable while you're ~~trapped~~ toiling away in your cubicle, and it also triples as a USB hub / charger and multicard reader. There has yet to be a peep made concerning the price, but we are told to expect it in black and white motifs.

Probably not worth rushing out to a store for, but some AT&T retail locations are starting to receive stock of the upcoming Motorola Z9's incredible batch of accessories. So, you know, if for whatever reason you were still holding out an irrational belief that the Z9 doesn't exist, this is probably the straw that breaks the camel's back right here. Now, let's just hope that we get something to actually put in the holster any minute now. Follow the break for another shot of the goods.

Luxury, meet ridiculous: the Mobiado Luminoso battery cover flash drive

If you're carrrying around a Mobiado Luminoso cell phone, it's a safe bet you might be interested in Bissol's brass-encased 4GB flash drives -- so why not jack the ritz factor by combining them in Mobiado's new battery cover for the Luminoso, which features a storage / display compartment for the included drive? That's right -- Mobiado asked itself what its customers wanted, and came up with a custom battery cover that only holds an opulent brass flash drive. Damn, we knew we weren't exactly the target market, but you'd think they'd at least try to go quadband first.

Motorola announces music-centric T505 carkit

It seems only fitting that Motorola would announce its latest in-car solution when the largest automotive accessory extravaganza -- SEMA -- is starting its 2007 show. Motorola's MOTOROKR T505 Bluetooth carkit combines handsfree calling, A2DP support, and an FM transmitter which allows music and phone calls to be streamed over Bluetooth and played through the car's speaker system. Don't rush out to the stores just yet as this won't be available to sometime in early 2008 (well, actually, you can rush out right now if you're so inclined, you'll just be waiting in the cold for a few months).

GPS, music, power: Nokia busts out slew of accessories

Ear candy aside, Nokia showed a bunch of other goodies today to adorn that special handset in your life, too. First up, the LD-4W GPS Module adds a little style -- "Nseries style," sez Nokia -- to the previously released LD-3W, offering 10 hours of operation on a single charge; it'll be available for about €125 ($170) and promises compatibility with a "wide range" of Nokia hardware. Next, the MD-7W stereo Bluetooth speakers let you share the tuneage with those around you, willingly or not; they're also designed with the Nseries in mind but should work with any device supporting A2DP when they hit for €130 (about $177). Last but certainly not least, the DC-1 Power Pack acknowledges that media-centric phones aren't always the easiest on the battery, offering juice to one or two phones with 2mm Nokia power ports simultaneously. Look for this one to run about €105 ($143). All of 'em should be available "globally" in the fourth quarter of the year.

Aftermarket Nokia N95 battery gets biggie-sized

A Chinese manufacturer by the name of Yoobao decided to concoct a battery for Nokia's N95 that crosses the line of "freakishly gigantic." With stats that see capacity upped half again from the standard in-box battery (that's a total of 1,400 milliamp hours, mind you), it's anything but easy on the eyes -- but we just know there are some owners out there willing to make the sacrifice to own The N95 That Wouldn't Die.

What better way to cap off a recent $600 or so purchase than to spend even more money accessorizing it? The myriad of Belkin wares we spoke of a short time ago has hit the market just in time to grab your attention (and dough), and users itching to wrap their precious toy up in a clear acrylic case ($29.99), armband ($29.99), or slim-fit holster ($29.99) can now pick up any of the three. Additionally, a number of 3.5-millimeter stereo cables and headphone adapters are also available, but they aren't likely to perform any differently than the bargain variety already out there. Hands-on with Crystal Film for the iPhone

One of the inevitable first questions that gets asked when laying out hundreds of dollars for a device with a giant, glossy, gorgeous touchscreen is, "just how the heck am I going to protect this thing?" It turns out that the iPhone may not need any particular babying, but for the paranoid among us, Power Support is offering its "Crystal Film" through Apple stores. Ironically, Apple itself says that protective films aren't recommended since they can interfere with the iPhone's ability to register gestures, but sho' nuff, walk into any brick-and-mortar Apple Store and you're going to see these packs on the shelf. No matter how scratch-resistant it may seem, we figure there'll be plenty of people willing to lay out the $14.95 sticker price for the marginal additional peace of mind Crystal Film offers, so we wanted to take a look at just how user-friendly the stuff is.

SolidAlliance goes psychic with Aura Controller orb

If you thought Asus' Aura concept phone was otherworldly, you haven't seen anything yet. SolidAlliance is back yet again with another zany and completely unnecessary cellphone accessory that purportedly changes hues based on the planetary mojo that's currently going on around it. There's not much to the Aura Controller besides it varying colors in response to faux psychic waves and totally bulking up your pocket when it's getting carried around, but hey, that's the price you pay to stand out. As if we needed to tell you, this one can be one found in none other than Japan for about $27.

Bevy of upcoming iPhone accessories revealed

iPhone owners might be putting their treasured handsets into accessory detectin' mode right out of the gate thanks to a plethora of accessories outed in iLounge's iPod accessory guide, which at well over one hundred pages makes it pretty much the be-all, end-all bible of iPod add-ons. As we might expect this early in the game, the goodies are strictly standard fare -- cases, FM transmitters, and the like -- though Belkin's Acrylic Case (pictured) looks like a winner thanks to its ability to support the iPhone on it side for more relaxed widescreen video viewing. Another gem is Crystal Film, which'll cover the entire front of the device with a thin, transparent static cling layer; good idea from a protection standpoint, but we can't help but wonder how that's gonna affect the feel of the screen.

Cellphone float keeps your mobile's head above water

Inflatable gizmos meant to save your dog's life and wake you from your bubble bath slumber have been around for some time, but this creation has probably been avoided due to the intrinsic probability of failure. Granted, the inflatable cellphone float would make for a great gift, but in reality, even the most diminutive of cannonballs will have this thing inverted in no time. Of course, for those just looking to float down the lazy river (yet still be attached to world), we could see it coming in handy, but there's no bundled guarantee that it's flip-proof. Still, this thing might not be a bad pickup for just R6.08 ($0.86), but we'll be sticking with the waterproof handset when it counts.
