LG Incite gets official for South Korea

Mark this day down folks, 'cause it ain't often that you see a handset released in the US of A months ahead of South Korea / Japan / elsewhere in Asia. LG's Incite -- the same one loosed on AT&T's network in November of 2008 -- just got official alongside the new Arena today in South Korea. As expected, it's launching with Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional, a full touchscreen, WiFi, a multimedia player and that all-important 3.5 millimeter headphone jack. It'll be made available in both black and wine red, and if all goes well, it should hit SK Telecom and KTF in the near future for next to nothing.

Keepin' it real fake, part CLXVIII: no carrier subsidy to be found

Most people try to keep carrier branding on their phones to a minimum -- it's gaudy, loud, and unnecessary -- but for the burgeoning KIRF industry, anything goes. Take for example the SciPhone S18, brought to you by the same company that saw fit to clone a free platform, Android, of all things. It sorta looks like a cross between an Incite, a Vu, and a Prada (which never launched on AT&T, coincidentally), but the kicker is the big ol' AT&T logo top center. We're pretty sure it wouldn't take more than a couple days on an American carrier for these dudes to decide that the logo's doing more harm than good, but then again, maybe they know something we don't. Doubtful.

[Thanks, Andrew]

LG Incite for AT&T, now with more official

We noticed this on AT&T's web store in the wee hours this morning, and sure enough, they've gone ahead and announced the LG Incite in all its official glory today (normally the announcement comes before the web store stuff, but whatever). It's got WiFi, a 3-megapixel camera, a 3-inch touchscreen equipped with haptics and 400 x 240 resolution, AT&T Navigator, microSD support up to 16GB, triband HSDPA, and Windows Mobile 6.1 -- in other words, LG's produced a nice QWERTY-less foil to the Fuze here. It's available straight away in stores, too, as long as you're willing to shell out the $199.99 on contract after rebates.

LG Incite for sale on AT&T's site, $199.99 on contract

Goodness, that was quick! We'd expected LG's Incite smartphone to pop up maybe by the end of the week if we were lucky, did all of our homework, and went to bed on time, but AT&T's gone ahead and jumped the gun by throwing up the glossy touchphone for sale already. To recap, most of the rumored specs were spot on: wide QVGA, 3-megapixel cam, Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional, WiFi, and GPS round out a promising feature set, but you're going to pay to the tune of $299.99 on contract before a $100 mail-in rebate on a Visa gift card. What happened to good, old-fashioned cash?

LG Incite release imminent on AT&T

LG and AT&T have done a pretty commendable job of keeping leaks about their glossy new WinMo set to a bare minimum, but you can only keep a phone this ritzy under wraps for so long, right? Word on the street is that AT&T stores will be ordering the LG Incite as of this Thursday, filling a gap in the lineup between the Vu and the Eternity -- full touchscreen dumbphones -- and the Fuze, the hot new QWERTY smartphone of the range. If the rumored specs hold up, we're looking at a WQVGA display, 3-megapixel cam, 3.6Mbps HSDPA, and Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional. Any would-be Fuze buyers second-guessing themselves now?

[Thanks, Kal]

LG CT810 "Incite" for AT&T gets pictured, we think

Okay, we're not absolutely positive that we're looking at the Incite here, but here's what we know: this is definitely the CT810, a phone that was approved by the FCC back in July bearing WCDMA (presumably HSPA) on the 850 and 1900MHz bands. It says AT&T on the display, it's running WinMo, and it matches the description we have of the Incite, so for all practical purposes, this is probably our prime suspect. We've got to say, LG -- if this is what you plan on bringing to the table, where've you been in our lives all these years?

[Thanks, alex]

LG bringing WinMo-powered "Incite" to AT&T?

When, pray tell, was the last time you saw an LG running Windows Mobile on AT&T? Go ahead, take your time, we'll wait. Still struggling over there? Yeah, you're not going to think of one -- trust us. Looks like that's finally about to change this year with the so-called Incite, a Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional beast that we're hearing AT&T hopes to launch in time for Festivus celebrations. We don't have any photography to ogle yet, but the specs sound dreamy: mirrored flush 400 x 240 touchscreen, 3-megapixel autofocus camera with flash, AGPS, 3.6Mbps HSDPA, WiFi, and a full metal body that runs 106.95 x 55 x 13.9mm -- in other words, this thing could conceivably out-KS20 the KS20. Yikes!
