First T-Mobile G1 tethering "solution" comes to light {Engadget}

Nov 4th 2008 8:11PM @chefgon_ign

T-mobile was not against tethering (all of their other phones, including the 3g handsets do it), it was simply that Android was not built with tethering app as part of the OS. In the press release for the G1 T-mobile even stated that they wold not have an issue with a tethering app.

Sigma Designs unveils its latest SOC for Blu-ray players {Engadget HD}

Oct 1st 2008 10:29AM @ Ed.
It looks to be the same size as my internal DVD ROM, but those are not the ones used in current set top DVD players. For sake of argument, doesn't Sony make slim line drives for notebooks that could be used in these players (although I imaging those drives are much more costly)

LG's BD300 Network Blu-ray player to stream Netflix in September {Engadget}

Jul 31st 2008 12:54AM I would say that physical media isn't quite done yet. Not because it can't be done, but because i'm sure the studios make way more money per disc sold than per view on Netflix or which ever service is used. That to me is why the content on Netflix watch it now is either bad movies, much older movies or documentaries. They want to squeeze every last cent from physical media that they can and I think Blu-Ray is their last chance. just my $0.02
