AMD to make "significant corporate announcement" tomorrow, possibly breaking up {Engadget}

Oct 6th 2008 11:41PM This post would have seemed more prescient had the NYT not announced 5 minutes prior to the original posting that a breakup was in the works.

Poll: Is iPhone firmware 2.1 breaking fetch for email accounts? {Engadget}

Oct 6th 2008 6:52PM I'm just pissed that my 2G iPhone can't find my location as accurately now that 2.0 is out. It's like they're trying to force me to upgrade to the 3G phone just to make Google Maps work properly again. That's just plain evil.

Batallions of Hackers vs Soldiers and Presidential Computer Literacy {Blog Maverick}

Sep 12th 2008 6:01PM Sure, the prez isn't going to be an expert on technology, but I'm thinking that he at least needs a basic understanding. And by that, I think he should know how to get in front of a PC and send some email. Hitting up Yahoo or Google would be nice, too. And that's it. Just the basics. I can't get behind a candidate who doesn't have that down in today's world.

The President is Not a Role Model {Blog Maverick}

Sep 11th 2008 5:29PM Mark, you may not be trying to call out either candidate on this, but it needs to be done. The way presidential campaigns are run is dishonorable, to say the least. What a huge difference it could make in the lives of kids if these people could be the real role models instead of power-hungry swine.

Where did all the good tech discussions go ? {Blog Maverick}

Aug 28th 2008 4:20PM I think tech discussions, like most things, are cyclical. They're still going on, but they're not quite as mainstream right now as they have been at other times. Just give it a few years: they'll be back.

A blog post regarding the fact that I'm still retired from blogging {The Jason Calacanis Weblog}

Aug 18th 2008 1:30PM Here's a "no" vote for the linkblog. I like the way nothing new has been posted here in a while. Keep it in the emails -- they're great!

Why Tiered Broadband is a Wonderful Thing and ASIVS {Blog Maverick}

Jun 5th 2008 11:46AM One of the major problems with the DVR argument is that you simply don't have any where near the selection available online. With the internet, I can go online with the task of finding a program and have the program on my hard drive in under an hour. With a DVR, I have to wait until that program is broadcast. If, for example, I am doing this searching from the office before heading home for the day, with the desire to watch the program that evening, the DVR is a no-go.

iPhone line forms at Apple's flagship for absolutely no reason {Engadget Mobile}

May 22nd 2008 2:33PM How can a photo be live? Photos are always snapshots of a moment from the past.

Beating Google ? {Blog Maverick}

May 14th 2008 3:14PM How many times have you typed a search into Google only to see Wikipedia as one of the first few results. Wikipedia would be a huge win for a company going after Google's core sites in this type of scenario.
