HTC Hero having intermittent text messaging problems? {Engadget}

Oct 26th 2009 5:05PM So what? My iphone has text problems all the freaking time!

Oh, I haven't rebooted my phone in two days... guess I don't have a problem with every call failing immediately, now do I?

Hey, wheres that text I'm expecting? Oh, I had to reboot for my phone to receive it... 4 hours late.

The moral? With ever increasing complexity in what we use, you should get used to unreliable hardware.

Garmin-Asus nuvifone G60 review {Engadget Mobile}

Oct 14th 2009 12:26AM Agreed. The cost to develop hardware, especially on the corporate scale that is required by something this technologically advanced (im not talking about the slightly outdated hardware, just in relation to say, a lamp) is astronomical. They would have benefitted DRAMATICALLY more by buddying up with a smartphone manufacturer and creating an alliance of "put our better GPS chip in your phone and we will design the navigation software so that nothing can compete". That = profits.

Nuvifone = MONEYPIT

Software firm finds Windows 7 doesn't boot faster than Vista {Engadget}

Oct 8th 2009 2:18PM In my experience (fixing my extended family's busted computers), software of this type causes SIGNIFICANTLY more problems than the 10 seconds it saves on the overall boot up time.

Advertising this software should be a felony, since it causes just as much damage as some of the more problematic viruses.

TomTom car kit for iPhone will run $120 {Engadget}

Sep 28th 2009 3:45PM Hot damn! A $120 iPhone holster for my windshield! Guess I'll pass on that just like I passed on every other worthless but overpriced iphone accessory over the past 2ish years.

So my contract is up and I want to dump this piece of shit the cupertino made. Any suggestions?

Microsoft's Project Pink finally bearing fruit in 2010 with two self-branded phones? {Engadget}

Sep 19th 2009 9:23PM I hope that Microsoft DOES make this phone - if anything to show Apple that by not actually updating their phones in the yearly-iteration, they will get left in the dust.

HP's new DreamScreens pack Pandora and Facebook into a wireless photo frame {Engadget}

Sep 17th 2009 3:00PM @edu

it is called a "niche product", just like all other electronic photoframes. You upload 200+ pictures and mount it on a wall, then it cycles through them. That way you don't need hundreds of frames to display your entire trip to wherever you went last. This new generation is just improving on that concept by offering multiple input methods and increased functionality.

HDI concocts 100-inch laser-based 3D HDTV, calls rivaling technology child's play {Engadget}

Sep 17th 2009 2:25PM I like how they demonstrated the technology to old folks who probably shat themselves the first time they saw a lightbulb.
