Apple says iTunes syncing only for Apple devices, looks sternly at Palm {Engadget}
Jun 16th 2009 10:21PM I'm going to assume most of you are forgetting that Apple has a legal obligation to keep tight wraps on songs, videos, and other things that have DRM. If they are being synced with a non-Apple device, they have no way to insure that the device is breaking the DRM. Apple itself could be sued if they don't patch up the problem.

Jun 15th 2009 3:59AM OH MY GOD!!! It is going to be so obnoxious!
What have we all been doing when we receive multiple text messages for the past 2 years on the iPhone?????????
Holy crap! Soooo MANY SMS's... what to do???
Lets make a big deal out of something that really isn't!
Pre sets first day and first weekend device sales records for Sprint, almost ruins a wedding {Engadget}
Jun 9th 2009 4:48AM Wait wait wait, let me get this straight...
People are criticizing the iPhone because the Pre has some improvements..... improvements that have taken almost 2 years since the original iPhone has launched.
Palm has been making phones for YEEEAAARRS... right?
Yet Apple's first phone is setting the standard for it's OS and implementation.
People are going to say, "well Apple still hasn't added this, or that, or this"
Yet you still forget, this is only Apple's THIRD generation phone. The Pre is what generation for Palm?
If Apple had as many generations of iPhones as Palm has had, how far more advanced and how many more features would it have?
It's kind of like saying that my 4 year old daughter can ride a two wheeled bike very well, when your 10 year old daughter has been riding tricycles for all of her life. Yeah, my 4 year old daughter has gotten your 10 year old daughter to go ahead and try that two wheeled bike, and guess what, she's not half-bad at it because she is SIX YEARS older.
Get my analogy.
The Palm Pre is a pretty nice phone though. I like it. I like my iPhone as well. The end.
Developers get first look at Apple Push Notification service on iPhone OS 3.0 beta {Engadget}
May 19th 2009 12:50AM Since when have other companies offered a centralized push system for 3rd parties? From what I can recall, RIM offers push on a first party basis. For IM you have to leave an app running in the background which usually kills your battery in about 4 hours.
Nice try though.

Mar 1st 2009 2:28AM Adding to what you said, I'm fairly sure most Mom and Pop stores don't have access the tools that Geek Squad uses. Their new MRI tool can boot into Windows without having a properly working operating system (that won't even boot in safe mode).
A multibillion dollar corporation has access to much more powerful and developed tools to remove viruses. Heck, half the time the computers at Geek Squad are fixed remotely.
Even Geek Squad's data recovery service (from damaged hard drives) is low priced compared to competitors.

Feb 28th 2009 1:52PM I apologize. I forgot 90% of the people who comment on this website are self righteous pompous know it all do it all ignorant jackasses. Thank god that your opinions only account for a realistic .05 of the general public.
And you really think that car you bought REALLY costed 13000 to build. What a sucker.

I hope you realize that Best Buy offers better prices on NEW core computers.
Online retailers cannot go (or try to avoid) below cost on their products. Whereas Best Buy can offer them at lower prices. But you wouldn't know that because you don't buy your computers at Best Buy... right? right? (This is me hinting at he does go buy core products at the stores but buys nothing with them, only helping worsen the economy)
And it's always fun and sarcastic to point out that your cheapness will help in the cause of 20,000 people losing their jobs. Feels nice doesn't it?

"Buy more overpriced service plans and accessories that you don't need, in order to keep our failing business model from destroying us! Please! PLEASEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
Oh a related note, I love you Amazon, Newegg, and others for never offering me a magazine subscription, a service plan, a "computer clean up" on a brand new computer, a TV "Calibration" via a part-time kid that has no idea what he is doing, or any of the other BS that these companies are having to resort to in order to stay in business. I also love you for your rock bottom prices, lack of sales tax, speedy shipping, and great customer service. If only I could say that for ANY brick and mortar store, other than maybe Costco."
Oooooh, another McKnowItAll. Thinks he can calibrate his own TV because he can turn down the brightness and sharpness and can "clean up" his new computer by deleting the shortcuts on his desktop.
What a concept... offer products, services and protection that "MOST" people can't do by (or won't bother with) themselves. Sure is a failing business model indeed. What company do you work for and what do they provide to the world? I'm sure there are people out there who are McKnowItAll's who you think are full of BS.
