In Plain Sight: Who Shot Jay Arnstein {TV Squad}

Jun 30th 2008 10:02PM Am I the only one who is distracted by her upper lip? I keep staring at it; so much so that I miss most of the episode...

She was beautiful before Botox, does she actually think she looks better now? Sigh...

First Drive: 2009 Honda Pilot {Autoblog}

Apr 15th 2008 8:24AM Until recently, we owned a 2005 Pilot. It may not have looked very pretty, but it was the most solid vehicle we have ever owned. Everything about it just expressed 'quality'. Minimal maintenance, nothing ever breaks, and interior materials hold up under use.Too bad the residual value was still sky high after three years, or we would have bought it.

The back seat may not look like much, but even for me at 6'4" it was a reasonably comfortable place to sit, mainly because of the reclining feature of the seat back.

If this new model improves on that (sans the ugly grille and cheap interior materials) Honda should sell many more of them.

CBS sets Shark for spring...and more Price is Right {TV Squad}

Mar 25th 2008 10:13AM Shark's stories have not been very original lately, but I still like it a lot more than most cop shows.

The whole father-daughter thing is as annoying as Jack Bauer and his daughter on the first seasons of 24 though.

Autoline on Autoblog with John McElroy {Autoblog}

Mar 21st 2008 2:47PM It's not about enforcing seat belt use at all.

In Europe, a driver's license is more that a glorified ID card; it actually means that you have mastered some important skills, and have passed an actual test, one that is hard to pass. Driving is a privilege, and a valued skill.

This mindset then makes people take driving seriously.

The most important safety measure that could come about in the US is politicians growing a pair and having the political will to enforce higher standards for driving skills.

Motorola getting ready to close Birmingham design center? {Engadget Mobile}

Mar 20th 2008 12:42PM The design center was in the UK? I guess that solves the 'why are Moto phones so hideous' mystery.

Doesn't really matter where the design center moves to, it couldn't be worse than this one.

Audi keeps last RHD Quattro in undisclosed location {Autoblog}

Feb 5th 2008 3:04PM Niiiiice.

Too bad it's RHD.

Linksys intros Wireless-G Internet Home Monitoring Camera WVC54GC {Engadget}

Jan 9th 2008 7:08AM Next time, do a little more than quoting a press release.

I own the previous incarnation of this camera, and would advise anyone who's considering this model to NOT buy it.

Gripes:

- doesn't show anything if not lit by full daylight or very strong artificial lighting
- video snippets are too short. Also, the snippets are encoded in such a way that you can't view them in the latest versions of Vista/WMP
- the video can only be viewed in Internet Explorer (ActiveX)
- the video stream can NOT be used in any other way (i.e. embedded in your own website)
- general unresponsiveness of Linksys to user requests.

If this new camera has corrected these evils, I might consider one again, but from the specs it looks very similar to the old one, except for the color.

Why Jorja Fox is leaving CSI {TV Squad}

Oct 18th 2007 4:33PM My prayers have been answered!

The less we see of Fox, the better. Her 'acting' was a joke, and the valley speak got really old, like, really fast. The whole Grissom-Sarah story line was dragging CSI down anyway.
