The Motorola V9 Ferrari, for the Moto-loving Ferrari driver in your life {Engadget Mobile}
May 9th 2008 11:57AM Okay, let's go. Vroom-vroom. Sputter. (stall) Towed away. Hauled to the junkyard. Tossed into a compactor. Sold for scrap recycling.
Engadget Mobile, LG, and Stark Industries want you to have a $1,500 Iron Man phone {Engadget Mobile}
May 5th 2008 4:02PM Nerd alert! Drop that sucker and some unlucky chap will wish they'd gotten an iPhone instead.
Now how many of you are going to start scraping and burning up your old cellphones just to try to win this contest. Glue, thinner and a Dremel Moto Tool should be good for a start. Tossing it from a high building might not leave enough to show in a picture. Sticking it in a blender for a few seconds might just do the trick.
Dropping it into a cesspool would be really nasty. Pull it out and hold it next to your face and then take the picture. You might have a shot at winning.
Garmin Nuvifone hitting AT&T for $500 plus? {Engadget Mobile}
May 1st 2008 1:21PM Yeh, but this Gar(bage)Min Nuviphone isn't for sale yet. By the time it's introduced, the fruit logo phone will have already captured the smartphone market and this will be an also-ran. If 5,000 people buy this brick, Garmin should consider itself lucky. I mean, this sucker has little class and most likely delegated to compete with the WinMobiles and Palms Centros.
Only two smartphones left in the battle, BlackBerry and iPhone. There's no more room at the top. If this was placed next to an iPhone only a blind man would choose this Garnuvi. It's just another plastic iPhone wannabe knockoff. What's Garmin's logo anyway? Garmin spelled out next to a figure of St. Jude.
Get real. This isn't an iPhone killer, it's an iPhone seller.
Nokia's touchscreen Tube out in the wilds? {Engadget Mobile}
Apr 9th 2008 12:10PM Why are the other companies even bothering to put out touch-screen handsets if they've already got decent keyboard handsets? I constantly hear people saying that touch-screen input isn't even all that good, so why bother. Just have a slide out keyboard instead. Or don't bother to have so large a display. Not everyone wants to watch movies on a handset.
iPhone 3G's baseband chip revealed? {Engadget Mobile}
Apr 9th 2008 12:38AM If Apple disables functions from the iPhone even though the chip supports those function, it's because Steve doesn't think it's necessary for you to have them. Whether you like it or not, he calls the shots and it doesn't matter because he's the boss and you're only a customer. So, no SD cards, and if you're lucky you might get a 3.2MP camera and that's about it.
Nokia readies iPhone-ish "Tube," disses Apple's sales {Engadget Mobile}
Apr 8th 2008 9:22AM There are touch interfaces and then there is the iPhone touch interface. Some do have a tendency to be sluggish or not sensitive enough. We'll have to wait and see how well this Nokia model is. Give it a chance. It does look similar to an iPhone, but if the dimensions and shape are nearly alike, it will likely resemble an iPhone to some degree. I'm sure this Nokia Tube will have every feature known to man. More features than even the iPhone 2. LED flash, microSD, GPS, user-replaceable battery, etc. Nokia will sell plenty of them, for sure.
Carl Icahn and Motorola bury the hatchet {Engadget Mobile}
Apr 7th 2008 1:14PM Bury the hatchet in each other's back.
Colorware, Photoshop, or iPhone 2? {Engadget Mobile}
Apr 4th 2008 11:49PM Ah! The Emperor has no clothes! That's definitely an iPhone 2. Even from the back you can tell it's the world's best handset that will be desired by at least 45 million people all over the world. Men, women and children alike will do anything just to touch this amazing hand-held browsing device. Let the hype begin for the Czar Bomba iPhone.
It's completely in black, so they should name it the iBro.
SARCASM ALERT!
Blue Palm Centro in the mix, but not in the US {Engadget Mobile}
