AT&T activates 146k iPhones in Q2, Wall Street frowns {Engadget Mobile}

Jul 24th 2007 9:29PM What paycut are you talking about Will? I have been with cing for 2years now and have not seen a paycut since AT&T took over 100% this past Dec. We are part of the CWA, the name change has nothing to do w/ our wage or benefits we are still under contract.. everything besides the internal name stays the same and we were already 60% AT&T before the merger.

These #'s are just for activations. Some folks werent able to activate their iphones due to an issue w/ the activation servers which was resolved on Monday, July 2nd. Lets not mention the port-ins from T-Mo and verizon that will show up in the 3Q stats. Even if there were just 140k activations on friday and saturday that is still a huge # for the amount of people activating their phone in a 30 hour period.

Dopod Windows Mobile 6 upgrades sighted, dates included {Engadget Mobile}

Jul 13th 2007 2:41PM I was able to install this update on my AT&T 8525 it works great. Nice black dopod theme. It has been pretty stable and very fast the 2 days that I have had it for, also includes a good working version of Live. No bugs until now.

YouTube hits Apple TV today, headed for the iPhone as well {Engadget Mobile}

Jun 20th 2007 3:00PM Right but your Treo is not as sexy as the iPhone and Palm is like the LG of PDA's nowadays. Has no WiFi and its most likely the Sprint's network with "broadband like" speeds, right.

Jun 14th 2007 3:07PM Blair you can go out and buy an SD card for your treo for $40 buddy but please dont compare your treo's mp3 player to an iphone/ipod. I barely use my HTC hermes to listen to mp3's.

Jun 14th 2007 3:02PM Does this mean that someone will be able to write a messaging app to allow MSN/AIM to connect to their servers?

iPhone details uncovered in Sales Training Workbook {Engadget Mobile}

Jun 11th 2007 1:51PM Theres really no comparison it all depends on your taste and needs. I love my HTC Hermes but I think MS comes out w/ the shittiest OS's. I plan on getting an iPhone just because I get a 30% discount on it and I dont find myself using 3G as much as I thought I would. WiFi works good enough for me which the iPhone does have and the browser does look nice I hope it supports Flash. I really want it for the multimedia features such as video/iPod as I like to keep myself entertained @ work where I cant answer my phone but can have a radio playing. So it's really a case by case basis, everyone has their own needs and I'm sure well have a 3G version out by xmas. I'm pretty sure the iPhone doesnt support the AT&T media mall because Apple will soon start selling ringtones through iTunes. And the 3rd party apps is the least of my concern, if theres a way in theres a way out im pretty sure someone will find a way its just a matter of time.

iPhone to get third party apps {Engadget Mobile}

May 31st 2007 2:36PM I own an 8525/hermes and i dont use the 3G as much as i did when i first got it. Im at work 9hrs of the day and were not allowed to use cellphones at work unless were troubleshooting on a similar phone. I'm still looking forward to the iPhone 1st gen w/ no 3G as I use most features when i'm out of work @home which I have wifi. As a partime DJ i'm just getting this phone to make/rcv calls and use it as an iPod on the road. I'm just hoping that the browser is able to play flash. With an 8GB harddrive for media videos/music i doubt i will need the 3G to keep me entertained while at work.

Apple iPhone center stage in 'AT&T Mobility' brand {Engadget Mobile}

May 8th 2007 12:30PM Like JMan said, AT&T mobility is the internal name for the wireless unit (cingular) You will never see "AT&T Mobility" engraved on a handset. Not sure where you guys get this info from. And Roe, the N95 gets its ass kicked by the HTC Hermes (AT&T 8525) in the US, since its 3G is useless outside of Japan/Europe which utilize the 2.1ghz, such great phone but useless in the US besides the excellent camera.

HTC releases official update for AT&T 8525 {Engadget Mobile}

May 3rd 2007 7:07PM Actually you wont, tmobile's 3G will not be using the 850mhz frequency theyre rolling theirs out on 1700, a frequency that the hermes does not support.
