G1's browser getting hijacked like a cab in Liberty City? {Engadget}

Nov 25th 2008 4:05AM Maybe I would if what you said made any sense...

G1's browser getting hijacked like a cab in Liberty City? {Engadget}

Nov 24th 2008 9:20PM well from what I've read here it may or may not actually be hijacked, the 2 most likely and most legit explanations I've read are either A: it's a problem outside the G1 software or B: it's some shady app (which probably only effects pre-RC30 or jailbroken G1's since those ones have root access) which from what I'm reading isn't on the marketplace.

Nov 24th 2008 7:53PM Heh, didn't play GTA 3... haven't really play GTA IV either but it's freakin everywhere

Nov 24th 2008 7:31PM I could be wrong but I'm fairly sure that downloading a virus made for windows on your G1 won't do anything... Besides that I'd like to know why engadget sees fit to report this but not, let see, the visual voice mail app that came out today on the marketplace? Or Opera Mini Browser that came out also? Or maybe the app that protects jailbroken G1's from apps taking superuser control and allows them so safely use the root features available to those who have jailbroken them... on the android marketplace. I dunno, but those seem like bigger news to me than yahoo forwarding to a microsoft antivirus ad that can't possibly do anything to the phone.

G1 multi-touch a reality, integrated headphone jack still just a dream {Engadget}

Nov 23rd 2008 1:00AM ya, that doesn't really make sense because it wouldn't handle moving both fingers down the screen in which case there is no jump(or rotating the fingers as he does in the video). This is multitouch and the screen definitely does support it but it doesn't have the drivers to back it up, meaning that this guy had to write a quick hack that kinda sorta handles multitouch since he didn't know enough/have enough time to completely rewrite the screen driver.

Nov 23rd 2008 12:50AM Really? Cause I listened to music for about 5 hours during my ride back into town yesterday with google maps up showing my location(using GPS) and the bluetooth on and it was still at like 50% when I got back. If you're experiencing really bad battery problems try letting it fully deplete till it dies and then charging it all the way back up(like 2 1/2 hours) before turning it on again. I did that and now my battery lasts freakin forever

Apple approves third-party email client for the App Store, violates its own policies {Engadget}

Nov 22nd 2008 2:32PM @who: "They more than make up for this by providing a super easy to use development kit free of charge, and actually offering to host all of your apps (and advertise them for free on iTunes) for a lifetime price of $99 is a better deal than you'll find anywhere else"

Raheeeeally? The Android dev kit is also free and super easy since it's a plugin for eclipse(which can be used in Windows, Mac or Linux by the way) and hosts all apps for a lifetime price of $25 on the android marketplace so.... ya I'd say that's a better deal. Oh, and if you don't want to pay the $25? You can just host the app yourself on another website and people with the G1 can still download it.
