AT&T announces iPhone 3G pricing plans {Engadget Mobile}

Jul 1st 2008 2:35PM Whoa, on my wireless.att.com page they changed the upgrade wording. It used to say "eligible for upgrade January 11th, 2008", now it reads:

"MY NAME, 123-456-7890
This line is eligible for equipment discount pricing when you sign up for a 2-year service agreement. You can take advantage of our no-commitment pricing option, with the exception of iPhone which requires a 2-year commitment. "

So maybe AT&T is being really nice about this to current iPhone customers.

Jul 1st 2008 2:11PM On your account page on wireless.att.com you can check and see when you're eligible for an upgrade. It seems to be 18 months after you switched to the iPhone plan, if you did that.

I understand subsidies and don't want to come across as a whiner, but a lot of us bought iPhones WITHOUT A SUBSIDY from AT&T and now are still forced to wait for a subsidy on an iPhone 3G as if we're trying to double dip, when really a lot of us are waiting for our first subsidy from AT&T.

Five steps to cooking great steak {Slashfood}

Jun 5th 2008 7:47AM I normally fire the oven up at around 400 degrees, and leave a big, flat bottomed, well seasoned cast iron pan in there as it heats up. Once the oven and pan are at 400F, I turn on a burner on high heat, and put the pan on top.

Then I take my steaks, brush them with a few drops of olive oil on each side, and sear for about a minute on each side. I then throw the steaks and the pan into the oven and let them cook for about three minutes on each side, pull them out, and let them rest for a few minutes.

Voom HD claims over $1 billion in damages from DISH Network drop {Engadget HD}

Jun 4th 2008 10:09AM It doesn't matter how pretty the footage is if the content sucks. I don't care if a channel is HD 24/7/365 if nothing they show in HD is worth watching.

Rumors of a takeover worry Anheuser-Busch's hometown {Slashfood}

Jun 2nd 2008 2:45PM I doubt they'll close the brewery, but I have a hard time worrying too much about disgusting beer.
