Robert De Niro Making Mao Zedong Film {Cinematical}
Jul 16th 2007 1:10PM Ugh, here comes another 3 hour yawn-fest a la "The Good Shepherd". De Niro, stick to acting...you're good at it.
Microsoft has Xbox 360 price cuts in the works as well? {Engadget}
Jul 9th 2007 3:01PM The "Core" system is a waste. Very few people buy it.
I'm waiting until the new revisions of the 360 come out with the smaller-process CPU/GPU. That should keep power consumption and heat down.
Monday Morning Poll: Waiting to See 'Transformers' {Cinematical}
Jul 9th 2007 11:55AM I woke up early and went to a 10:45am showing. I arrived 20 minutes before it started and got a great seat. It only cost me $6 as opposed to the standard $9.25 (no student discounts in my city, what a racket).
With the $3.25 I saved for waking up a bit earlier, I got myself a drink as well. Normally I would smuggle in a can of soda.
So to answer your question, I didn't wait. I just sacrificed an hour or two of sleep to catch a showing before lunch. Yes, the theatre was full of kids who had to pee every 10 minutes and kept dropping M&Ms all over the floor, but Transformers was so good and thrilling to watch that I didn't care.

Sony has "no plans" to cut PlayStation 3 price {Engadget}
Jul 6th 2007 1:02PM Give everyone a $100 credit who bought it earlier? Sorry, it doesn't work like that. Early adopters pay more, that's the price of being the first to own something.
By your logic...
$2000 computer bought today is on clearance for $500 in two years. Should they give everyone $1500 back? No.
If CC really is doing this on their own, then good! I'm so sick of market prices being set on everything these days. This shows that retailers should be able to charge what they want, and not be stuck with some "sell it at price X or don't sell it at all" ultimatum.
And yes, price matching will eventually cause everyone to drop the price $100.
Ask Engadget: Best wireless router? {Engadget}
Jul 5th 2007 11:13PM Any of the Linksys SRX routers. I have the WRT54GX2 (SRX 200) and am amazed at how much better it is than the standard $50 routers out there. I've had D-Link, Netgear, Linksys, and Buffalo "$50 802.11g" wireless routers. They all crap out in a few months or absolutely choke under BitTorrent. The GX2 proves that once you cross into the $80+ range, the equipment is vastly better. Better range, consistent performance, strong under Torrenting...can't beat it for the money.

Jun 25th 2007 12:40PM God, that is the worst photo ever. Doesn't show a thing, and adds NOTHING to the article. For a university, I expected better.
