Microsoft: 'We have no plans for Blu-ray on Xbox 360' {Engadget}
Oct 23rd 2009 5:01AM what? wake me up when america's "high speed internet" bandwidth can even keep upto a subpar bluray. the average household has a 1.5mbps downlink connection while a standard bluray is in the 20mbps+ range. instant 1080p is more like a pipedream.
i agree that downloadable/on demand content is the future, however the future is very far from now with the current state of "high speed internet"
HTC HD2 hands-on and impressions... on video! {Engadget}
Oct 6th 2009 7:08PM i honestly dont see why everyone is bashing windows mobile here. winmo 6.1 was actually a great os. it is far more matured than any other mobile platform with much much more support than any other platform out there. the last itteration of windows mobile i used was an htc touch pro and i would still be using that phone today if it werent for the bad camera i received, and was too lazy to send in for repair. you could literally install any rom you wanted - with any application you'd ever want. unlocking was cheap, and easy. stability was actually very great with a custom rom, and what other platform allows you to install custom roms/custom radio stacks...etc? i remember winmo 6.5 coming to the touch pro months and months ago!
REPORT: Kansas enacts 'Right Lane Law,' officially lands on Autoblog's Christmas card list {Autoblog}
Aug 20th 2009 11:48PM im perfectly fine with the state (of california) pulling more people over and collecting more revenue (maybe the school system wouldnt be so screwed, both k-12 and university level) if it means making these idiots in the left lane GTFO (instead of ticketing us people who are driving a little faster than the speed limit)!
im going to be perfectly honest here...i have a 1000mile/week commute, and my average speed is at least 85mph, if not more. i'm not the only one either, as i frequently have people pacing behind me (no not cops). i dont understand these people...you see a car coming at you in your rear view mirror at a high speed, you're sitting in the left lane doing less than speed limit, or heck maybe even 70mph, yet you continue to stare at me through the rear view mirror instead of moving to the right? (holy run-on) are you kidding me? wsfdjighfjrto
ive become so good at anticipating these cars, that ill start signaling a good 10+ car lengths away that im moving to the right line, then cut right in front of them.
Book scanning gets a 1,000 fps turbo mode {Engadget}
Aug 13th 2009 11:20PM or...you know....publishers could release all their books on ebooks for a decent price (mostly textbooks) versus selling them 10% cheaper than the hardcover book then not being able to sell it back for any money at all.
why go through the trouble of scanning when the publisher has the book digitally anyway?

Jul 2nd 2009 12:23PM dont hold your breath on this coming to at&t. i honestly believe at&t wont allow this in their lineup so long as the jesus phone is their number one priority.
however...does anyone know if android has a screen resolution limit? all (or most) of htc's newer phones have wvga-ish screen resolution (800x400) yet all the new htc android phones come with a measily 320x480?. thats hardly anything to get excited about when the screen is 3-4inches

Nokia's Ovi store makes soft landing in a few markets, might be headed to your neck of the woods soon {Engadget}
May 25th 2009 4:20PM actually...nokia has the most developer friendly app store out of them all...android, apple, blackberry, windows.
dont like quoting gizmodo on here...but they did a nice round up of them all a while back:

nokia has no developer fee, unlimited listings, and 70% commission to developers. less if billed through the mobile operator, which wont happen in the USA anyway with at&t not backing any real s60 phones.
