Apr 8th 2007 10:43PM EV-DO : Evolution, Data Optimized: The next-generation of wireless technology that boosts the capacity and speed of wireless data. EV-DO is an upgraded version of the CDMA 2000 system. The 1xEV-DO system uses the same 1.23 MHz radio channel bandwidth as the existing CDMA2000 system that provides multiple voice channels and medium rate data services. The EV-DO version changes the modulation technology to allow for a maximum data transmission rate of approximately 2.4 Mbps on the forward channel. It uses the same reverse channel which limits the uplink data transmission rate to approximately 200 kbps. It has an upgraded packet data transmission control system that allows for the bursts of data transmission instead of continuous voice data transmission. The industry standard for EV-DO is IS-856

Does that help you out homie?
