Desert showdown: the Vegas Mate app vs. Frommer's paper guide {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}
Sep 12th 2009 8:35AM I went to Vegas for the first time in July (stayed at the Encore!). The two apps I used most were Yelp and Google Maps. We had done a lot of research prior to going, so we had an idea of which restaurants and shows we wanted to eat at/see. We were able to get a lot done with those two apps.

iPhone is humongous for AT&T {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}
Jul 2nd 2009 10:26PM Am I the only person out there that's satisfied with AT&T?
I have a feeling that lately it's just part of a bigger trend to bash AT&T. Either that, or it's a very loud minority.
I've had AT&T in its various incarnations (Old ATT, Cingular Blue, Cingular Orange, New AT&T) and have always gotten excellent service in South Florida.
I just switched from the first-gen iPhone, which was rock-solid in terms of reception, call quality/clarity, etc. to the new 3GS and am amazed that I now have even better coverage/signal than before.

Original iPhone owners & Push Notifications {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}
Jun 16th 2009 11:43PM Are you sure about that? I have an original iPhone with a push Exchange account. An incoming call interrupts the data connection and rings.
I think it works the same way dial-up used to work, if your modem didn't dial *70, call-waiting could kick you off.

New iPod shuffle features VoiceOver {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}
Mar 11th 2009 9:34AM The control scheme on the new Shuffle is very similar to the way it's done on the iPhone using the OEM earbuds. It would be awesome if they next version of iPhone software could introduce Voice Over.
