iPhone 2.1 update is out: bug fixes and longer battery life promised {Engadget}

Sep 12th 2008 12:59PM They worded this poorly. It is not an optional feature, it is now the standard behavior of SMS. You can't turn it off. Basically, if you receive an SMS and do not touch your phone, 5 minutes later it will play the incoming SMS sound again (however screen stays off). If you still do not touch your phone, 5 minutes later it will do it once more.

Sep 12th 2008 12:45PM No doubt that *some* of the 3G issues can be blamed on AT&T. However, when you have another 3G phone on AT&T's network side-by-side with the iPhone and the other phone is out performing the iPhone, I think it's pretty obvious that you can't blame the network in that case.

Sep 12th 2008 12:33PM I think this feature was worded poorly. It's not an optional feature you can turn on, it's just the standard behavior now. You'll get up to two additional alerts if you don't check your SMS. It seems to just repeat the SMS sound every five minutes.

There can be only one: "source" claims for iPhone 2.0.2 to not suck, 2.0 must die {Engadget Mobile}

Aug 29th 2008 12:55PM As a greedy, power-hungry bastard, I will definitely NOT be upgrading to 2.0.2! So suck it all you other 3G users :)

Sprint Airave signal booster goes on sale today -- in Denver and Indy {Engadget Mobile}

Sep 17th 2007 1:46PM I think it is amazing how these providers trick the consumer into paying a monthly fee for a device that boosts their weak signal. Instead of improving our network quality, let's get the customers to pay for a device that improves our signal in their homes -- brilliant!

T-Mobile announcing German iPhone deal tomorrow? {Engadget Mobile}

Jul 3rd 2007 4:49PM I would also return mine. Having to go back to EDGE for this was almost a deal breaker. Then to find out that Europe is about to get a 3G version would be the final straw.
