Bell first out of the gate with CDMA Touch Dual {Engadget Mobile}

Aug 9th 2008 7:42PM Bully for you. Daliy conversations with my girlfriend who remains on that carrier, as well as my former patronage of same, suggest otherwise.

Bell first out of the gate with CDMA Touch Dual {Engadget Mobile}

Aug 8th 2008 8:49PM Dunno... I generally like my Sprint Touch... but it's the phone functions via the touchscreen that drive me nuts! I'd seriously consider upgrading to one of these... or better still, a CDMA Nokia with this form factor and a 3.5'" screen , if they ever made one.

For me, the qwerty keyboard just isn't worth the additional bulk.

I used to be so adamant about running WinMo to compliment my Exchange service... but in light of how well the iPhone and iP 3G performed in just their first outing, 6.1 really now seems to me to be an overcomplicated, basically slow, clunky, OS that should be significantly better than it really is.

As a carrier, ATT is still brutal in L.A. though, so I won't be going there any time soon...

Perhaps Android...?

What if you could change the iPhone 3G? {Engadget Mobile}

Aug 2nd 2008 9:14AM I'd put a CDMA radio in it!!!

Sprint's HTC Touch (Vogue) gets Windows Mobile 6.1 update {Engadget Mobile}

Jul 1st 2008 3:37PM 6.1 FTW!
Runs great!
Added opera 8.56 (free for 30 days) and it really sings!

Verizon XV6900 hands-on {Engadget Mobile}

Jul 1st 2008 3:32PM Did we all just bury the headline?

As of last week, on Sprint this bad-boy is upgradeable to WinMo6.1!
http://www.engadgetmobile.com/2008/06/26/sprints-htc-touch-vogue-gets-windows-mobile-6-1-update/
Nice improvements in stability, speed, text messaging (now threaded), etc.
Much more solid feeling overall... feels like the phone finally works as it was supposed to all along.
Add in Opera 8.65 (free for 30 days 'till the 9.5 Beta hits on the 15th) and you really do have a phone you can live with.

Before this, I was constantly thinking about what was going to get next... now I think I'm good 'till a sorted-out Android hits.

Apr 29th 2008 6:23PM Have you seen the video of that O2 Flame?!
Its a frigging boat anchor!

Verizon XV6900 available April 16 {Engadget Mobile}

Apr 7th 2008 12:23PM $350.00 on a 2-year lock-down?!
Hey Verizon... STOP HELPING!!!

Left VZ after 10 years to get a non-ridiculous black one for $249 (after $100 rebate) from Sprint almost 6 months ago.
I was fearful of a degradation in service... but my concerns were unfounded. I'm in L.A. and, if anything, the reception has been uniformly better. (go figure)

Oh, and by the way, on the SERO plan my monthly minutes went up 33% while my bill went down 50%.
The only thing I miss is the exceptional customer service I used to get from 'ol Red... but at that price... I'll deal with it.

Verizon's XV6800 in the wild, finally available to order {Engadget Mobile}

Nov 27th 2007 10:12PM I waited and waited... loyal to the strength of the network.. but could stomach it no more!

Got the HTC Touch from Sprint two weeks ago and am pleasantly surprised.
The phone rocks WM6 and the HTC UI overlays are great!
The processor and RAM upgrades are a huge positive as well. It now runs like you feel it should.
As to the signal, I have to say the network here in So. Cal isn't half bad.
So far, in those places I've checked, I'm averaging at least one bar better than on my VZ "Q".

Kicks-ass on price too.
On Sprint's SERO plan, I'm paying $50/mo. [1250 minutes + unltd. texts and data] for what VZ is charging $110!

My only regret is customer service. VZ still clearly beats Sprint on that mark

So the XV6800 delayed 'till December 5th, 2007 for no real reason?!
Sorry it now just looks old and sad

HTC Touch shipments hit the million mark in five months {Engadget Mobile}

Nov 16th 2007 12:35PM My sentiments exactly!
Feeling your pain, I finally gave in and bought one on a Sprint friends and family discount plan.
450 anytime minutes + unltd text/ data = $30/mo.

Oh, and the phone ROCKS!

...though I may flip it for the slider version if that comes out soon.

Hands-on with the Telus HTC Touch {Engadget Mobile}

Nov 9th 2007 10:41AM This baby-up arrived from Sprint last night and am duly impressed.
Faster and much smaller than I expected!
The TouchFLO UI and re-worked home page kick-ass!!!

Took back the Samsung i760 I waited months for from Verizon. Had been with them for years but could bear it no longer. Man, that thing was comparatively a big, clunky... BRICK! Button placement and WM Pro straight-up did not work.

Going to try the Sprint network for 30 days and see what I'm giving-up.
Observations so far:
Customer Service - not as good, though Verizon's, may have been the best of any type I'd seen.
Signal Strength - TBD, though at my house, I'm getting 1 more bar.
Price - Sprint FTW! ... with unltd. data, about 50% less than big red.
