PAX 2009: Brutal Legend lets you decide about the F-word {Joystiq}

Sep 6th 2009 6:02PM Aw for monkey's sake! That's supposed to be a reply to the monkey-fighting post by Das Boot above! Frak!

Nokia's Booklet 3G detailed further at Nokia World, priced at €570 {Engadget}

Sep 2nd 2009 5:09AM Bear in mind that €500 is a pretty normal price for a netbook in Europe (e.g. here in Sweden). So the asking price of €570 is nothing to be surprised about. When comparing prices between Europe and the US, the usual translation is €1 = $1. This applies to all gadgetry and is due to higher VAT and other complicated stuff no-one bothers to understand.

Lucky Mac mini buyer got Snow Leopard disc in the box? {Engadget}

Aug 22nd 2009 1:12PM I just love the Google translated headline:

"Apple, Snow Leopard's ship flying a DVD?"

Surely, its ship can't be flying a DVD?

Game Informer: Xbox 360 at 54.2 percent failure rate {Joystiq}

Aug 17th 2009 6:31PM Are these problems (RRoD and E74) mostly popping up in the US? I'm Swedish, my Xbox 360 Pro is 2 years old and I've never had any problems with it. Neither have 2 friends of mine, who both have 360s about as old as mine. I find the 54% rate WAY too high.

Difference between your 110 V power network and our 230 V perhaps? :/

MSI Wind U200 gets €499 price tag, up for pre-order {Engadget}

Aug 7th 2009 2:48AM This is correct. In the US, the sales tax is never included in the listed price, making electronics always SEEM much cheaper. Plus, the sales tax is a lot lower in the US, making electronics ACTUALLY cheaper. I always translate $1 USD to $10 SEK, which is about €1 EUR, and it is almost never wrong.

Lots of familiar faces promised for final season of Lost {TV Squad}

Jul 26th 2009 9:40AM Richard Alpert used to fight crime under the name Batmanuel.

Wooden electronic ruler concept makes measuring fun again {Engadget}

Jul 25th 2009 9:59AM I do believe that is actually the way it works. When two small metal contacts are shorted, the ruler knows which two and where they are placed, therefore knowing the location of the pencil tip.

Optimus Prime loves Sex and the City {TV Squad}

Jul 8th 2009 2:11PM "This video is not available in your country due to copyright restrictions."

Thanks.

iPhone 3GS data isn't really faster than the 3G's in Chicago {Engadget}

Jun 20th 2009 10:30AM Too bad for you Americans. I usually get 3.2 mbps on my iPhone 3G here in Sweden. The iPhone browser is still slow, but the connection is good for tethering (thanks, jailbreaking!)
