BlackBerry 8830 "Cyclone" peeped with Verizon branding {Engadget Mobile}

Apr 5th 2007 12:56PM Why is Canada in brackets? The phone will most likely only sport GSM 900/1800, so of course it'll roam in Canada over CDMA.

Rogers gets Treo 680 {Engadget Mobile}

Alltel, America's Largest Network? {Engadget Mobile}

Apr 27th 2006 2:27PM Verizon's "Canadian" coverage shown on their map is simply coverage provided by Canadian carriers (Telus, SaskTel, Bell, etc) as roaming agreements. It's a deceiving map in that regard....and it's coverage definitely not provided by VZN.

Samsung's SCH-V850 A-GPS cellphone with NATE Drive {Engadget Mobile}

Apr 1st 2006 10:44PM Your hw6515 has plain old GPS, not AGPS. AGPS means that your position is partially determined with the help of the wireless network, instead of strictly US gov't satellites. I'm assuming the NATE system fires mapping info over EVDO, instead of requiring a basemap to be preloaded onto the phone/unit. Somebody correct me if I'm way out to lunch on this.
