Heroes: One of Us, One of Them {TV Squad}

Sep 30th 2008 1:03PM "There could be tons of Ali Larter's running around out there."

First off, lose the apostrophe because I think you meant to pluralize her. Remember, the apostrophe key does not mean, "Holy s**t, here comes an 's'!"

Secondly, if you meant, "There could be tons of Ali Larters running around out there," then you have just hit upon one of my favorite fantasies. GET OUT OF MY HEAD!!!

Terminal Tips: Add recent applications as a Stack on Dock {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}

Sep 16th 2008 4:49PM I had the same problem, then realized that I had disabled remembering recent apps.

Turned it on in System Preferences > Appearance, and it works just fine.

Mad Men: Maidenform - VIDEO {TV Squad}

Sep 1st 2008 10:19AM Yeah, what he said.

What are all those Olympic promos worth? {TV Squad}

Aug 25th 2008 12:48PM If a show sucks, no amount of promos will help it's ability to make it.

Eureka: I Do Over {TV Squad}

Aug 20th 2008 5:34PM I purposely don't watch the "coming up in the next episode" teaser at the end of each show because, like George's father, "I like to go in fresh!"

Obviously, I was caught by surprise by Stark's demise, but I don't think for one second that he won't be back, perhaps in time for the two-part season finale?

I did enjoy this episode more than most.

Apple's quality dwindling: My MacBook Pro sob story {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}

Aug 1st 2008 12:32PM Like you, I replaced my iBook G4 with a 15" MBP (early 2008). Like you, I got the theater lights problem, once; but unlike you, it never came back. However, the first MBP I got had a dead optical drive out of the box. A trip to the Apple Store confirmed it.

Because mine was a BTO, I had to ship it back, and when UPS (or DHL, can't remember) scanned that I had shipped the broken one back, they started to build the new one. So I was MBPless for about 1 week. The replacement is almost perfect -- the mouse button is a little less sensitive, so when dragging, the button sometimes un-clicks itself. Minor annoyance.

Haven't seen the theater lights on the new MBP no matter what I do.

Number port stats suggest curious trends in iPhone 3G launch {Engadget Mobile}

Jul 23rd 2008 1:29PM Who the eff makes $10 a day? Minimum wage is $6.55 (starting tomorrow). If someone works 7 hours a day, they made $45.85. Take out taxes, SSI, etc. and the take home pay is around $30. That's three times the stated $10/day, which must make them the "rich people".

Of course, based on your grammar, sentence structure, punctuation, etc., you might only be qualified to make $10 a day. Perhaps you would be better off buying some English skills with your money rather than a cell phone.

Jul 23rd 2008 1:23PM @DTemp: I assume you can back that up with real proof. Where?

iPhone 3G screens made "warmer" {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}

Jul 12th 2008 10:28PM Warmer, sharper, and the colors are truer to life. Kodak would be proud (did I just date myself?).

Regarding the battery: All rechargeable should go through a few complete cycles at the beginning and again once every one to two months.

Apple details what you need to bring for iPhone purchase {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}

Jul 8th 2008 11:21AM They do NOT need SSN for any purpose. It makes it easier for them to do a credit check, but it is NOT required by AT&T or any of the large mobile carriers. Just tell them you are not going to give it to them, and they will deal with it. It will take longer, and you will get a bunch of looks, but they do NOT need it.

BTW, if you are going to do that, you should probably buy the iPhone at an AT&T store since they probably already know how to handle that.
