Using invasive species like kudzu as biofuel feedstocks {Autoblog Green}

Jun 30th 2008 10:19AM Much less maintenance is an understatement. You can't kill it and most animals won't eat it.

The unique thing about kudzu, besides the fact that it grows at an extreme rate, is that it's a vine and grows up. You could potentially double the size of your yield by acre, by creating a network of trellises.

If you designed the trellises so that the kudzu came off it easily enough, you could speed up the harvesting.

Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 hands-on, sorta {Engadget}

Jun 26th 2008 9:24AM What's with the monster sized space bar? What a waste of space. Sure for real typing on a real keyboard, a larger keyboard makes sense.

But on a phone, where you're typing with your thumbs, who cares?

So, where is Martin Eberhard's Tesla Roadster anyway? Here's the story so far {Autoblog Green}

Jun 19th 2008 10:22AM Man, poor Darryl. He sounds more and more like Ari Fleischer every day. At what point did his job go from herald to spin doctor and damage controller?

Jun 18th 2008 9:46AM Horrible. It looked like something a contestant on 'The Apprentice' would come up with. Geez.

Altairnano releases 1st Q earning report, holds conference call {Autoblog Green}

May 8th 2008 5:42PM Um, that's terrible. The CEO's job is to sound upbeat, but revenue down and expenses up? That's the worse case scenario. Losing 8 million a quarter in a economy where credit is becoming increasingly difficult to acquire means this company will either have to sell or die.

It's going to take a lot of coin to make up for the money they're losing and a couple of promising leads is not going to do it.

The product might be the best thing since slice bread, but these guys are going to have to go bankrupt soon or hope someone buys them.

Motorola's cellphone business needs a new leader: okay, I'm in. {Engadget}

May 6th 2008 4:24PM He's looking all thoughtful outside the Schaumburg Motorola building.

I used to work down the street from it and was constantly wondering how Motorola could be within line of sight, yet I was only getting one bar on my cell phone.

I know the two aren't necessarily connected, but I sort of thought they would have a cell tower or something nearby.

Tesla Motors opens first factory store in Los Angeles {Autoblog}

May 2nd 2008 5:17PM I said it before and I'll say it again, this is a horrible idea. The above poster who said they completely missed the point of a dealership hit it on the head.

I like Tesla a lot. I've been a huge fan for a long time. But I don't see how this style of Hollywood dealership will ever make any type of financial sense.

Eventually you'll have to either scale back the free lattes and the salaried staff or start pushing sales to pay for the lattes and staff. Either way will make you look like a sell-out.

Nike Hyperdunk goes hyper-viral with Kobe Bryant/Aston Martin "stunt" {Autoblog}

Apr 11th 2008 3:46PM Looks like a blue screen to me. Not a drive by the side. The shadows look weird. It could be the quality of the video, but I'm guessing he did this in a studio.

If you notice, he's standing at the bottom of the lamp post shadow and the car drives directly over that shadow. Which means the car did drive over the spot he was theoretically standing.

I'm guessing when this comes out, it'll be he was in studio in front of a blue/green screen and the car was filmed separately.

Apr 10th 2008 3:43PM If the carriers charge for the texts, they can all go to hell. Well, they can probably go anyways. What's worse than hell?

They can all call into their customer service lines.
