Redesign giveaway: HTC's new Shift UMPC {Engadget}

Apr 15th 2008 8:06AM This would look pretty nice next to my AT&T Tilt.

HTC's Dream again rumored to be first Android phone {Engadget Mobile}

Mar 20th 2008 9:59AM This has been pointed out in earlier posts, but maybe the mysterious HTC CONV100 mentioned two weeks ago via a filing with the Bluetooth SIG is the Android phone. Seems plausible, at least until further info about either surfaces.

DIY IR headgear repels security cameras, attracts "security" {Engadget}

Feb 23rd 2008 11:47AM I was thinking the same thing, Mike ... no one around you would be able to see the IR light, so they might wonder why you're wearing a headband if you're wearing a business suit or something, but there are obviously other ways to disguise the IR lights. Only the people watching the security cameras would notice the camouflage, but that may be enough for them to send someone to question you (especially if you're wearing this device in a high-risk target area, like a bank or gov't building). In fact, your face may be obscured on camera, but I won't if this wouldn't attract *more* attention than simply going about your business.

If Jobs says "people don't read anymore," does this headline really exist? {Engadget}

Jan 16th 2008 3:14PM Yeah, I think they meant to say "more people" ...

HTC Neon hits the FCC, next stop NTT DoCoMo? {Engadget Mobile}

Dec 9th 2007 12:14AM Speaking of paying attention, they said a "Touch with HSDPA" ... which eliminates the Sprint Touch. My plan is to pick up a Touch Cruise while I'm in Europe this month. Hopefully they'll be out on time, before I head back to the States. That's the Touch with HSDPA (and a whole lot more) that I've been waiting for!

Black Friday Giveaways (part 13): Slingbox Pro + HD Connect Cable {Engadget HD}

Nov 23rd 2007 9:40PM I'd like to upgrade from my standard Slingbox.

Black Friday Giveaways (part 9): AT&T Tilt {Engadget Mobile}

Nov 23rd 2007 2:46PM This would be a nice upgrade from my HTC P3300.

HTC's Touch Cruise with GPS gets official {Engadget Mobile}

Nov 12th 2007 11:43AM I use AT&T (Cingular) and haven't had any problems. If you're curious about how HTC hardware performs on their network, you could always pick up a Tilt and give it a whirl. You have two weeks to return the phone (I think), but since it's an HTC product it would give you an idea of the call quality. Personally, I haven't had any problems with the P3300, which replaced a Moto MPx220 and imate SP3i that I'd been using previously (the Moto was cr@p, but the imate was fine).

HTC's Touch Cruise with GPS gets official {Engadget Mobile}

Nov 12th 2007 10:41AM I've had the HTC P3300 (Artemis), which the Touch Cruise (Polaris) replaces, since early this year and I think it's a great device! The lack of a physical keyboard is sometimes a nuisance, but otherwise there's not much this phone is lacking. I use it with TomTom Navigator 6 and it's great to have integrated GPS to get around unfamiliar areas. The upgrades brought by the Touch Cruise (better processor, more memory, SDHC compatibility, 3G) should only improve on an already amazing piece of hardware. And with the TouchFLO interface, the software should be better, too! I'm definitely considering an upgrade.

Samsung's GPS-equipped i780 "Treo-killer" revealed {Engadget Mobile}

Oct 9th 2007 5:56PM I hope that AT&T doesn't remove WiFi if they add this phone to their lineup! And since the new Tilt features WiFi along with all its other connectivity options (GPS, BT, 3G, etc.) I'm going to remain optimistic. This Sammy seems like a worthy competitor to the Ubiquio 503G, though. The latter has the QWERTY keypad and touchscreen, but lacks GPS. I'd like to see how the two phones ultimately stack up, since the 503G has a great processor and lots of memory.
