FotoNation embeds red-eye reduction for that cellphone cam {Engadget Mobile}

Mar 4th 2007 5:56PM Hang on. Red eye happens when the bright flash catches the iris off guard and open wide in a dark room, and the flash lights up the red retina. This only happens with Xenon true-flashes. Other than the SE800i, all the phones have those terrible LED lights - which do not create red-eye in the first place.
