Nov 21st 2008 5:49PM Damn, If I'd of known it was in Birmingham, I'd of taken a drive past the dealership (which is right outside the Jaguar factory :D )...

BMW asks other automakers to collaborate on in-car open source platform {Engadget}
Oct 24th 2008 2:10PM I was wondering myself if BMW had a call from the big G saying 'Hi, we've an OS you might want to look at'.
The problem automakers have is they have to design their 'ICE' to last not just for 3, 4 or 6 years, but potentially for upto 25years or the life of the vehicle. This is one reason why USB has taken soo long to start being installed into cars - it now seems like its a good format and interface that will be around for a while.

Oct 18th 2008 6:28AM Looks like it fits my bill perfectly. Need to find a way to reduce my 510w (average consumption) server's power usage down a bit.

Walmart shutting off DRM servers, turning over a new leaf {Engadget}
Sep 28th 2008 6:56PM So basically what WallyMart are saying is 'burn your protected stuff to a CD', that way you can illegally strip the drm from it and re-rip it. Because I can guarantee that the original contract said something along the lines of 'you agree not to circumvent any digital protection from this music' or some such.
Still, fair play to them for seeing sense and offering drm-free mp3s.
