Google's mobile phone in two weeks? Not likely {Engadget}

Aug 23rd 2007 11:59PM My bet: Google releases phone (not necessarily in two weeks) without much marketing lead-up; they utilize an "in-development" HTC smartphone. This way they can capitalize on the buzz that would be created by blind-siding the majority of people which are not expecting any sort of release. An HTC smartphone that is in development wouldn't create any undue attention when going through the FCC approval process.

Feb 5th 2007 6:04PM Hey, I know Bogden and you guys have it all wrong. He is a specialist. In this photo he is piloting a pilotless drone, oh wait.

Windows Vista Protected Media Path DRM already broken? {Engadget}

Jan 29th 2007 8:50PM Hey, speaking of Viodentia, what ever happened to that guy? It has been over 120 days since the original post about him. 120 days was supposedly the timeline given by the Mr.SOfty Investigator to produce discovery and identify all the John Does involved. Can we get a Viodentia update? Maybe an interview from his Sealand hideout?

Italian village gets lit up thanks to gargantuos mirror {Engadget}

Dec 19th 2006 3:45PM Any picks for first follow up story to this article?

"Hailstorm sends Italian village into darkness, years of bad luck"

or

"Hundreds blinded in Italian village, UN airlifting 185 pairs of sunglasses"

or

"Risks at dangerous blind corner eliminated in Italian village"

Aliph's Bluetooth Jawbone headset sports military-grade noise cancellation {Engadget Mobile}

Dec 18th 2006 5:00PM Great, now all we need is for them to combine this with your preference of over the head or behind the neck headphones and provide a2dp bluetooth. I am about to pickup a set of the Plantronics Pulsar BT haedphones. Seems to be the best option for a2dp headset with call answering capability, though bone conduction is going to beat the piss out of telescoping mic boom when it comes to voice quality. Oh well.

Copyright Office rules that consumers can legally unlock cellphones {Engadget}

Nov 23rd 2006 3:38PM I did not RTA, but from your post I get the impression that this has nothing to do with the 1-2 year contracts that most sign in order to get the sweet discount on their newest gadgety goodness. So once my formally cutting edge cingular 8125 is utterly outdated in march of 2008, I can switch to T-mob with my unlocked phone? Sweet! WTF?

Who needs a TV when you have a Mac? {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}

Oct 4th 2006 6:18PM Sure did. Running a 20" 2ghz PPC Imac. Found an articulating VESA arm at a flea market for $5. Put imac on wall. Let comcast talk me into the cable tv/internet deal, then realized that with my wallmounted imac there was no way I was going to bring some clunky old box into my apt. So i picked up miglia's etetv and bingo. TV on my mac, and with Titan TV software running I have what i refer to as Freevo, Tivo minus the commercial editing, for free

Sep 4th 2006 3:32PM Isn't it great that words like "mission-critical" can make powerpoint presentations seem exciting. Good work.

Auction 66 could shake up wireless industry, benefit consumers {Engadget Mobile}

May 16th 2006 7:41PM God, a joint venture between: Time Warner Cable, Sprint-Nextel, Comcast, Cox, and Advance/Newhouse Communications.

I'd hate to be the lawyers that have to draft that agreement.

T-Mobile and Verizon Wireless not supplying data to NSA {Engadget Mobile}

May 12th 2006 1:04PM Nick, aka #4, I heard on the radio (they can't track what radio stations I listen to, can they?) last night that Qwest was not participating with the NSA's request. They essentially insisted that the government produce a FISA order before they would hand the records over. It sounds like they took a bit of heat over it all. Being questioned about their patriotism, etc.
Good news for you. And everyone living in the PNW that has a landline.
Qwest also will sell you stand alone DSL (i.e. You don't need to buy a landline too). Which I guess is kinda unusual these days, at least for a major carrier.
