Sep 19th 2006 1:53PM I don't know why, but my iMac G5 started locking up completely when iTunes accessed my library on an external drive (LaCie Porsche 250GB USB, around 50GB used.) Had the logic board replaced and the problem went away, but I'm afraid of it happening again. Other people have reported issues with locating the main data store for iApps on external drives as well:

(although: I'm USB, he was Firewire; he had apps crash, I had my whole system freezing solid)
Just thought I'd spread some FUD ... seriously, though, if anyone else knows anything about this, let me know, otherwise I'll chalk it up to a faulty logic board and try to forget about it.
