Mar 13th 2006 2:07PM USB & Power - get a clue. You could never pass that much data to have multiple HDTV via USB. That is why there is UWB in the first place. It is designed to move vast, vast amount of data over a short distance with minimal power. Freescale is working with Bluetooth as well as USB so we can all have compatiblity with legacy devices but move forward with HD video in large and portable devices

Feb 17th 2006 12:53PM This is also a smart move by cooperation of the Japanese carrier and handset device OEM and the Govt. By having dual mode phones in development the device OEM can have a better chance of opening up the US and Euro markets, where they do not have much market share. By doing so DoCoMo can see lower cost handsets from the home based OEMs as their volume goes. The govt, get to have people employed and tax revenue. The Japanese can not afford to be overrun by the Korean and Chinese OEMs as they are right now.

Feb 15th 2006 3:56PM My hats off to samsung for introducing so many devices, however the marketer and one person's opinion is it appears to be too much of a good thing. talking about customer confusion, if all or most of these are available from the same operators or retailer, one may just end up in over-load mode and select a device from someone else that makes it simple to choose. Are we seeing the OEM going overboard here. the KISS (keep it simple stupid )approach may be what we need more of
