Oct 21st 2008 11:15AM I just Photoshopped an ifixit (www.ifixit.com) photo of the MacBook logic board (the port lineup is copied from the new MacBook Pro). Even in the current config my 'shopped' logic board will fit the MacBook's casing! In my opinion, (at least some of) the pre-production models did have FireWire onboard. This adds to the general feeling that the only reason FireWire was kicked was: upselling...

The MBA is 0,86 liter and the X300 is a 1,54 liter. It's almost twice the size!

Feb 12th 2008 9:37AM If I calculate correctly this means an avarage of only half a million smartphones per model. In that case Apple didn't do a bad job: new to the market, 1/2 year availability, 1 model, 3.5 million.
Also, people tend to forget: iPhone=OS X=UNIX=past=present=future=developers=...
