Techie Swedes prove iPhone 3G reception is "normal" {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}

Aug 25th 2008 10:05PM Agreed. My 3G does a lot better than I expected when I heard about the "problems" and such. I'd wager that the AT&T coverage is quite a bit spottier than Sprint (Q9c), but I have yet to have any unreasonable problems.

The only time I've seen the phone with no service was in the boonies of Southern Indiana. However, around the Louisville suburbs in S. Indy, the coverage is perfect.

The iPhone actually gets better reception than my CDMA Q9c got in the metal building that I work in. When it does finally lose 3G in the building, it switches to Edge quickly and without interruptions.

Fanswag: Alone in the Dark {Nintendo Wii Fanboy}

Aug 5th 2008 9:29AM I'm afraid of not winning this contest.

The BlackBoard Pro {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}

May 22nd 2008 9:54AM Just use a dry erase marker. As long as your laptop is clean, it'll wipe right off. If it's not clean, it might smudge in a bit and cause dark spots. Comes right out with a bit of water or alcohol though. The chalkboard just looks silly.

Wii Warm Up: Are you down with EarthBound? {Nintendo Wii Fanboy}

May 9th 2008 5:05PM I don't really understand the elitism shown here about "knowing" Earthbound earlier than other people. That's really creepy guys, you should talk to a professional about that.

That said, I was introduced to Earthbound on my best friend's SNES probably 13 years ago when it came out. I'm not sure where he would have gotten it, but chances are it was straight off the shelf at Wal-Mart. I wasn't interested in RPGs at the time so I didn't pay it any mind, but I've enjoyed it since then. Never getting all the way through it emulated and never owning a SNES, I can't wait to see Earthbound on Virtual Console. I WILL be putting my +1 buyer into the statistics when/if the game releases!

Samsung ACE global smartphone, M520 go live on Sprint {Engadget Mobile}

Feb 17th 2008 9:07PM And the best news about this is that the Q9C, which is about the same d*mn thing except it's not a wold phone, is $99.99!

Office for Mac 2008 coming for Enterprise on Feb 1 {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}

Jan 18th 2008 11:51AM This explains why it's marked "First week of February" in the Indiana University software download site too.

Apple developing dynamic keyboard {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}

Jan 3rd 2008 2:23PM This would be quite nice as I'm a Dvorak user and reconfiguring keys is less than a joy to do. Most keyboards come out okay, but I miss the dimples for my home row keys which ought to be on U and H for Dvorak.

I'm sure it'd be far from simple on a laptop, but I actually damaged my laptop re-arranging them on the first try. The keyboard and mouse became unresponsive from a severed connection. I then re-arranged again not 5 minutes after getting it back from service.

Date set for Kentucky Apple Store {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}

Aug 24th 2007 5:22PM I can't wait, wewt. Ditto on both comments earlier about our situations on getting Apple service here. I've dealt with MacTown and I've also driven to Cinci for service. I can't wait to have a real Apple authority locally.

See ya'll at the opening, ye'hear!?

TUAW Back-to-School Giveaway Day Five: Blue Bottle {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}

Aug 17th 2007 8:29AM You guys really don't realize how badly I need a blue bottle. Any other color just doesn't do when you're in the line of work I am. The wrong color bottle and a brotha down the street might put some lead in me!

Spyshot: Louisville, KY Apple Store {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}

Jul 17th 2007 2:52PM I was there the day before yesterday and noticed the doors were cracked a bit. I think folks are curious enough to pry them open because I don't think they meant for it to be that way. In any case, the store inside (behind the door) is still a clean slate.
