Sanyo's new kiddiephone for Japan, the SA800i {Engadget Mobile}
Mar 15th 2006 4:29AM ive always wondered about this whole kiddie phone process. is it really wise to give kids a cell phone so we can track them wherever. parents really know how to kill the fun in being a kid. theres a difference between paranoia and parenting and kiddie phones definitely highlight the former.
Verizon to Vodafone: gimme my equity {Engadget Mobile}
Mar 13th 2006 8:25AM i always felt the european cellular services were far superior to the ones being provided by the north american ones. at least, they werent as backward since it took ages for north american companies to adopt TDMA. i have no idea whats going to happen out of this - just that the zillions of vodafone users dont roll themselves backwards for this one.
maybe, north american cell services might catchup with the rest of the world :)

Yahoo! ZoneTag 2-click-uploads location-tagged photos to Flickr {Engadget Mobile}
Feb 26th 2006 2:00PM now this is a service that i've been waiting for. for too long, ive head to lug my phone and laptop everywhere. at the end of a hectic tourist session where ive taken a lot of pictures, ive had to transfer the images to the laptop, prepare them for web viewing and then upload them.
professionally speaking as a person who travels a lot and works in a video game company, taking reference photography in foreign locations is something thats a very dominant aspect of my job. uploading them quickly for my coworkers to see from any remote locations makes my life a lot easier.
next time i shuttle between different countries, im signing up for this service.
Judgment Day arrives for RIM {Engadget Mobile}
Feb 24th 2006 12:57PM i dont really understand why people are so service reliant. i have a palm treo 650 with gprs and does an amazing job. it does everything a treo can and a lot more. i know it will cost people a pretty penny to trade in their blackberrys in for palm treos but in the long run, it'll be better for everyone rather than rely on something legally sketchy.
the only people who are going to benefit from this are the people using treos or pocket pcs - in the long run the biggest winner will the person who is going to pick up the palm 700p.
cant wait for that thing to come out :)
Motorola launching Wireless Wheels cellphone-controlled (toy) cars {Engadget Mobile}
Feb 23rd 2006 1:12PM i'd rather see a wirelessly controlled wheelchair than this thing. good god man, what on earth would i do with this?
being able to control a wheelchair with a cell phone - thats not only cool - it kind of benefits the physically challenged in the long run :)
