More on the future of online video {DV Guru}

Oct 31st 2006 10:07AM I read this blog daily for news when previously I would have read more mainstream press publications. When you think about how many great blogs there are that speak to specific interests and are well done, you can see a clear path as to how produced video content will find the audiences. Standardization of RSS, and aggregators played a big part in this maturation of this medium. The same will have to happen with video, as there are so many platforms companies, and no real great way to discover content that is relevant to you.
These tools for distribution and consumption will be put in place over time, and indie video will be as prevasive and as common place in our lives as blogs.

How YouTube Won: Great SEO + Stolen Content (or "the biggest hit and run in the history of the Internet") {The Jason Calacanis Weblog}

May 12th 2006 11:43AM I'll have to agree with you Jason, I think that rights, and licensing will be the single biggest problem with ALL of the sites that claim to be video sharing and distribution sites. That content in question is owned by media companies, they own the rights to distribute that how they want. If YouTube is distributing content owned by someone without permission and profiting from it, then they owe the company whose content brought traffic/value/revenues.
It is irresponsible to hide behind members of the service.

Nokia gets the shaft here in the US because they don't want to bend over and change their OS for carriers, and put carrier branding all over their phones, so they don't get the same play that LG and samsung get.

But they seriously are one of the best mobile phone companies out there.

Yahoo! Go Mobile goes mobile with Cingular on the Nokia 6682 {Engadget Mobile}

Feb 21st 2006 5:35PM Yeah this is a pretty bad idea. To tie any mobile device to particular branding is a bad idea especialy when that company does not enjoy market dominance ala MS or Apple

Commodore going after mobile gaming market {Engadget Mobile}

Feb 20th 2006 5:19PM All of these legacy gaming companies have a huge opportunity to ressurect themselves create value and then enventually get bought out by larger players. The market is growing expoentially, and if they can attain some decent handset support we could be seeing a comeback of some of our favorite old school games.
