LG and Nortel complete first legit LTE-CDMA handoff, Verizon swoons {Engadget}
Aug 26th 2009 10:27AM Sadly, that picture is not a handoff. As someone rightly mentioned above this is play action all the way; the QB clearly still has the ball while the RB is pretending to take the handoff. If we believe this picture data will never get transferred from one network to the other. Not only that but CDMA should be the QB and the running back should be LTE... the handoff (almost) never goes the other way.
I guess I shouldn't expect someone from Berkeley to understand the game of football.

Nokia hooking up with Polar for fitness monitoring? {Engadget Mobile}
Dec 21st 2008 3:05PM I've been saying since Nike+ first came out that Apple should partner with Polar. If this is true, this is a HUGE misstep for Apple. They were the first to bring PMP's into the fitness world and should have been doing so with the iPhone.
Ask Engadget HD: What's the best plasma to pick up? {Engadget HD}
Oct 15th 2008 1:27PM I did a lot of research earlier this year (May timeframe) about the best value in Plasma displays. I'm surprised it's not listed on here, but after much research I decided to get the 50" Samsung A550 and I have to say it was the best $1899 I have ever spent. The great thing about this set is that it comes out of the box with pretty good color settings and with the advanced controls you are really able to dial it in (especially if you use the service menu). It is also one of the only sets (at least in this price range) to have a "blue only" mode, for color calibration. I read review after review and never found one bad thing mentioned about this set, nor can I think of anything... maybe better handling of anmorphic vs. 4:3 SD video, but it's really not a problem.
I got it right when they came out and found the $1899 price, though even the week after I bought it the price shot up to $2199 (I think because of demand for this particular model).
If you want to spend less than $2000 I don't think you will find anything that compares.

Ask Engadget: What are the best sounding headphones with in-line mic? {Engadget}
Sep 19th 2008 2:36AM Hmmm... you people do realize that 1/8" jacks are standardized right? Apple's new headphones will work on any device with a 1/8" socket that accepts Left and Right audio output and a microphone input... as per the standard. They will also work on devices that don't accept mic in or are mono. Because it's a standard. The only wild card is how the buttons work and as far as I've heard the earlier poster is correct that the middle button works but not the volume buttons.
Getting back on topic... the best headphones I've used are the Ultimate Ears ear-buds I bought. I can't remember the model name, but they are the $150 ones. The only thing I had to get used to was that they isolate the sound so much that you hear your own voice so loud through your head so much it's almost distracting. The sound quality is impeccable.
