PETA mashes up Cooking Mama and Stephen King for gruesome holiday fun {Download Squad}
Nov 19th 2008 3:44AM I always wonder if Peta is aware that animals EAT other animals, often in horrible grotesque and bloody ways.
Apple adds OTA podcast downloads to iPhone firmware 2.2, continues to burn developers {Engadget}
Nov 6th 2008 1:34PM That would imply that Apple hadn't already planned to implement the idea first, which we don't know, and I suspect that already did.
The Engadget article is a bis misleading because it leads you to think that Apple stole the idea, when that may not be the case at all.
I don't care much either way, the iPhone does pretty much all that I need it to, and if it didn't, I have a plethora of other phones to chose from, so does everyone else. No big deal.
Wii Fit set to outpace Grand Theft Auto IV -- gamer geeks weep, gnash teeth {Engadget}
Oct 21st 2008 10:42PM You mean to tell me something that appeals to the lowest common denominator is outselling something aimed at a specific and passionate core group? That's outrageous!
I'm glad this sort of thing doesn't happen with music, movies, cell phones, laptops, cars, food...

T-Mobile's G1 presales aren't "even close" to 1.5M {Engadget}
Oct 16th 2008 2:04PM That's the exact reason Fred, the Razr is still the number one selling phone despite the fact that it sucks balls. When I worked at AT&T, we would get more returns on it than anything else. Form is an incredibly compelling reason to purchase a new phone.
Also, the average person has no clue what a G1 is, while EVERYONE and their mom had heard of the iPhone months before release.
A big bag of Blu-Ray hurt for Apple {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}
Oct 16th 2008 12:20AM For me, a huge decision in whether or not I purchase a new DVD is whether or not it has a plethora of special features. No special features = no buy from me. Currently, digitial downloads don't offer anywhere NEAR the additional content than can be found on DVD, let alone Blu-Ray. And when I look at the content Disney has been putting on their Blu-Ray discs (a complete ride through of the Haunted Mansion Holiday Attraction in Disneyland in HD?), it makes me even LESS likely to purchase my video content from iTunes and anywhere else.
I also enjoy taking movies to a friends house and enjoying them there. I don't want to carry my laptop, connectors and other mess to simply watch a movie. All these concerns have not been addressed, and that keeps physical media in the advantage.
NPD says 30% of iPhone 3G buyers switched carriers, Google Street View and more said to be in 2.2 firmware {Engadget}
Oct 6th 2008 2:16PM I love my iPhone, but seriously, what's with not adding things that we've asked for since day one?
1) Copy/Paste (not a HUGE hassle, but it sucks when you need to copy and address from an SMS or email to Google Maps
2) MMS (again, not a huge hassle, but it sucks to ask people to send a copy to email)
3) Contact grouping (OMG, why can't I have personal, friends, musicians, etc? Would make SMS so much better)
4) Browser stability (certainly better than before, but it still crashes every now and then)
I still use my iPhone over my Blackberry, Motorola Q9, and other smartphones, but sometimes those little quirks really bug me.
Cellphone, USB drive gets modeled with meat {Engadget}
Oct 2nd 2008 1:14PM I've always wondered why Vegans and other anti-meat consumers and organizations fail to acknowledge that animals eat other animals, and they way they kill their prey is often grotesque and looks to be extremely painful too.
Since we're essentially animals ourselves, why is it wrong for humans to consume meat? Especially when I have canine teeth and one stomach with one compartment unlike a cow that has 4 compartments?
T-Mobile G1 impressions: what we love, what we don't {Engadget}
Sep 24th 2008 7:02PM I own an iPhone as well as a Blackberry, HTC Tilt, and a few other WinMo devices. The iPhone is my favorite however, and many of the quips I often see in the comments simply aren't that big of a deal.
I'm not interested in the G1, but I do look forward to seeing how android influences other phone OS'. Like the iPhone, I think it's going to be one of those devices that pushes mobile phones even further than before, and that's always a great thing no matter what smartphone you choose to use.
Good luck google! Perhaps someday I'll be interested in picking up a phone with Android!

Sep 24th 2008 2:37PM As much as I hate to admit it, Hyundai is looking pretty darn good right now. Can't wait to see these on the street.
