Microsoft's Randy Siegel equates using a BlackBerry with sending data to Canada {Engadget Mobile}

Jan 28th 2009 1:20AM so maybe im confused... doesnt all blackberry traffic actually pass through a RIM owned server at some point, regardless of BIS, carrier, BES whatever? is that not true?

either way, the man never said blackberry was "carefully monitoring" every byte and bit of data. good job putting words in peoples mouths engadget!

HTC's Touch Diamond / Pro, how would you tweak 'em? {Engadget Mobile}

Jan 9th 2009 10:24AM change the painful capacitive dpad to a scroll ball like G1 and bb curve/pearl

add left/right soft keys and let me make home and back be start and ok if i want to!

scroll wheel instead of two up/down buttons on the side

in fact, put all the buttons on the side that my mogul had..

to sum up, buttons buttons more buttons. i get it, its called the touch line.. but sometimes i dont feel as touchy as you want me to be guys.

it could have been fine at least if that capacitive area at the bottom actually served some useful purposes, but for me.. its useless.

Why Internet Explorer 8 might not pass the Acid2 test {Download Squad}

Mar 14th 2008 10:00AM what an incredibly smug article this is!

as commenter james pointed out, had this 'other' site which was hosting a copy of the acid2 test hosted it correctly and fixed the urls to not be cross-domain.. the test would have worked. no one bothers to consider for once maybe microsoft didnt screw up.

its like putting a fresh water fish in salt water, and then when it dies telling everyone: "guys listen, it was the same fish... maybe that means fish can only survive in fresh water."

Sprint, Microsoft roll out location-based Live Search {Engadget Mobile}

Sep 19th 2007 2:33AM thats the original live search app.. not the gps enabled one.
here is how you ACTUALLY get it:

youre expected to go to the sprint vision portal, and search for something. this brings you to a page of local results, with a link for "Precise GPS Location". Click that and you'll be taken to the sprint premium content store to download this program for $0.00.

or you can use this link to get to it directly:
http://search.portal.sprintpcs.com/wls.aspx

worked for me on an A900. seems to be java only though, and not downloadable on a 700wx.
