FCC warns Comcast (CMCSA) on internet speeds {BloggingStocks}

Feb 26th 2008 10:43AM The warning was intended more for throttling bittorrent traffic rather than 'high usage'. This type of traffic has more of a political and legal ramification nowadays, because providers are selectively targeting just that traffic vs someone who is simply streaming videos on YouTube.

MyNetflix (beta) Vista Media Center plugin with Watch Now streaming {Engadget}

Feb 11th 2008 9:29AM Netflix WatchNow does not work if your whole 'chain' of devices starting from your PC going to your TV are all HD. This is not Netflix's fault, but rather MS DRM's.

That is why I can hardly wait for Silverlight, which is device and platform independent.

iPhoneSIMfree goes retail, let the unlocking begin {Engadget Mobile}

Sep 10th 2007 3:47PM Simple, just don't update your phone! Why would you update it anyways? You can already install way more software on there then Apple would even dream of releasing and new updates like iTunes over WiFi will surely be provided as an app by the iphone dev team. They are already wokring on exchange, push email etc etc..

WowWee's FlyTech Dragonfly reviewed {Engadget}

Feb 14th 2007 5:58PM It would be even more supreme if it weren't toally sold out!!!

A Radio Shack store employee (the sole retailer carrying this) said "there have been dozens of people calling about this, our warehouse system says we are totally out with no news of new deliveries"

Somehow reminds me of a PS3 without the getting shot factor..

Aqua Teen Hunger Force viral ads cause Boston bomb scare {Engadget}

They should bring criminal chargers against the idiot that reported it in as a suspicious package and the whole Homeland Security group in Boston!!!!

Guess the terrorists have already won ;(

VidaBox rolls CableCARD into Blu-ray and HD DVD all-in-one media centers {Engadget}

Jan 23rd 2007 11:42AM The reason I had questioned it was that most of the info surrounding the CableCard certification was pointing at only big manufacturers being given such certification (also mentioned by ATI). They suggested smaller boutique manufacturers would be left out, such as Voodoo PC, Alienware, etc..

Although, I am sure there will be grey market tuners or software 'solutions' soon for the likes of Hauppauge or other major tuner manufacturers to allow CableCard..

VidaBox rolls CableCARD into Blu-ray and HD DVD all-in-one media centers {Engadget}

Jan 23rd 2007 9:48AM I don't get it. I thought the consensus was that only the big boys like Dell and HP would ever be able to get CableCard certification on Vista machines.

How is this "Voodoo-type" aftermarket retailer getting CableCard support on a roll-your-own MediaPC?
