Techspansion closes, VisualHub discontinued {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}
Oct 3rd 2008 6:34PM Thanks for the update on Handbrake. That would be nice if it supports other formats other than physical DVDs.
No Blu-ray on Macs... and no one cares {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}
Oct 3rd 2008 2:33PM As a PS3 owner with over 20 Blu-Rays, I don't see a need for Apple to include Blu-Ray just yet, but it would be nice as an add on for the Mac Pro.
Techspansion closes, VisualHub discontinued {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}
Oct 3rd 2008 2:23PM Sad this is going away. Handbrake works well, but VH was great for AVIs that I needed to convert to the iPod. Will have to make sure I keep good backups of all this.
Sarah Connor Chronicles is THIS close to being canceled {TV Squad}
Oct 1st 2008 6:35PM I agree. Two shows people just watch like crazy. Both are reality shows. But yet a really good show like Terminator: TSCC comes on, and ratings tank. Is it just me, or are good shows like this just too smart for the masses? I hope not.
I love this show and it's one of the few I watch.
Pentax's 10.2 megapixel compact K2000 for first time reflexers {Engadget}
Sep 22nd 2008 11:57AM Removed a couple of nice and useful features (optical viewfinder, weather sealing).... guess I'll take a pass on this model and keep adding to the K200D savings account.
Key limes are not the same regular limes {Slashfood}
Sep 18th 2008 10:30PM You spelled it out with the color, key limes turning yellow when ripe.
And never, never eat a piece of Key Lime Pie that is green. I've had to lecture many a server at a restaurant that tried to tell me that key limes were green, which is why the pie was green. Key Lime Pie should be yellow. And not be served from a box.
A Thrifty Drug ice cream cone {Slashfood}
Sep 17th 2008 11:49AM Amanda's experience was the same as mine as a kid. I grew up in Garden Grove (Orange County). Sometimes we walked to the Thrifty Drug, other times I went with my mom. A single scoop started out at 5 cents, then moved to 10 cents, then 20 cents until I remember it being 50 cents. You could get a single, double or triple scoop.
And I had no idea that the ice cream counters stayed at the stores when RiteAid took over. Nice to know that for the next time I am in SoCal.
How would you change Sprint's AIRAVE? {Engadget}
Sep 14th 2008 10:12PM Helix hit it on the nose. I don't mind buying the box and maybe even a one time fee for setup, but monthly recurring charges to fix bad signal issues? Hmmm... Nope.

Adobe CS4 announcement expected Sept. 23 {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}
Sep 6th 2008 12:53PM I used the CS suite for a while (still have it installed on my wife's Mac mini G4), but made the upgrade jump to CS3 for my MacBook Pro back in 2006. So far, I've barely scratched the surface on new features, let alone wanting to spend more time with Illustrator and getting good at that. So far, Photoshop, Dreamweaver and Acrobat Pro are my 3 most used programs and work fine under Tiger (still need to move to Leopard someday)
