Microsoft may extend Windows XP "downgrade" deadline by six months {Engadget}

Oct 4th 2008 7:04PM Vista has workd fine for me - but only after I uninstalled the copy installed by Lenovo, and then re-installed it. More relevant to this article, MSoft is showing an incredible amount of marketing / PR discordination vis-a-vis the XP line. While I understand it's hard to give marketing & PR support to a product that's had signifficant negative feedback from the market, I would think that after the strong demand for extended support of XP by the market, MSoft would have since handled the lifecycle marketing and PR of XP a bit better.

Oct 1st 2008 2:08AM You twits, this was not a mistake - this is installment 1 of a marketing campaign for their new Facebook recruiting drive!

John McCain, inventor of the BlackBerry {Engadget}

Sep 16th 2008 3:40PM Their PR campaign has obviously blinded you all - please, cease your misinformation. It's not the Bear, Alaska, or some jolly guy in red, it's the penguins!

If Al Gore invented the Internet, and McCain invented Crackberrys ('berries?), then what did Ross Perot create?

Lenovo stops selling Linux-based PCs via the web {Engadget}

Sep 14th 2008 11:41AM ??? I am completely confused at your comment. It is not a Lenovo line on IBM's website. Lenovo is its own company now for several years, and they do have their own website from which you order. I've never bashed comments on Engadget, but yours, honestly...

Lenovo stops selling Linux-based PCs via the web {Engadget}

Sep 14th 2008 11:26AM ...and there's also the misconception, following most distros around from the early releases, that it's so overly complicated and difficult to use.

Lenovo IdeaPad S10: the heat it generates is remarkable {Engadget}

Sep 13th 2008 12:15PM I'm starting to think Lenovos run much hotter / have more heat management issues than other computers. I have two here; and granted they are full laptops, this article gives me some pause to question Lenovo's success in temperature management. I could keep my old Dell between 42 and 55, and there was not heat externally on the keyboard and screen. When I first put clocking software in the Lenovos, it registered 90. Slowing the clock, I get it down to 65, but that's really the lowest I can get it. More relevant to this article, the heat radiates throughout the whole PC - and the entire left half, esp keyboard, gets pretty freaking hot!

World to end Wednesday {Engadget}

Sep 7th 2008 11:17PM Between more iPhone articles and micro black holes, I'll take the latter. In all seriousness, I really hope imate gets out a new ROM for my 8502 before the end of the world. It would be cool to have a WM6 device that could actually run fast enough to load the camera + MMS apps in time to take pictures of the earth being swallowed by a black hole & send them to everyone in my address book.
