Chad Pennington Is Still the Starter in Miami {Fanhouse NFL Blog}

Oct 7th 2008 5:15PM 1. He is injury prone

2. Defenses don't need to worry about him throwing down field.

3. Bad Decisions.

Besides throwing short routes there is NO comparison between Pennington and Montana, that is just plain silly. You come to defend him after two Dolphin winds but it was Ronnie Brown (both running AND with his arm) that carried those games, not noodles arm Pennington.

I will grant you, I thought he would have been out for the season already, but to say he has "worked through" his injury issues, that remains to be seen.

In the mean time, I still say if the Dophins expect this to be a "transition year" then the transition should be to get Henne reps, much as the Giants did in Mannings first season, the payoff will not be seen this season, but Henne will be better prepped for the future.

TiVo Suggestions goes kaput in the United Kingdom {Engadget HD}

Oct 2nd 2008 12:32PM There are people that actually use "Suggestions"? The first thing I did when I got my Tivo was turn that little "feature" off.

GE intros E1055W, E1050TW and A1030 point-and-shoots {Engadget}

Sep 25th 2008 11:17AM Aww... I think you do a disservice to GE here. These cameras may be boring, poorly made, and noisy even at ISO 100, but compared with the Kodak's that were released, these are sleek elegant, understated stylin' cameras (I said by comparison).

Kodak reveals EasyShare Z1485 IS point-and-shoot {Engadget}

Sep 23rd 2008 9:28PM Yes, but in Kodak's case (most of the time) the problem isn't the Carl Zeiss lenses, but lousy (in camera) software and a sensor that is just to plain noisy (again because of too many pixels on a substandard sensor)

Kodak reveals EasyShare Z1485 IS point-and-shoot {Engadget}

Sep 23rd 2008 2:43PM "but are you seriously considering spending three bills on a camera that reeks of 2001 in the design department?"

Even in 2001 most cameras, had more style than this (even Kodak's own). It seems like Kodak isn't even trying anymore.

Sigma's DP2 compact with DSLR-sized sensor gets even better {Engadget}

Sep 23rd 2008 10:17AM Mikeo, that is simply not true (though it is exactly how Sigma markets the Foveon),

While Sigma would like you to believe that Foveon captures up to 3 x as much detail, that would only be true if every single picture in the image was in color, and that is for all intents and purposes never the case. There is much more black and white pixels even in a "color" photo, and that reduces you number of "effective" pixels, making the true resolution closer to Ian's claim of 8 MP.

You are right that the larger sensor size does provide it a certain benefit over MOST point and shoot camera, but you are just blowing smoke trying to lay claim that it has anywhere near the capabilities of the 5D (even with the 5D being three years old).

As to the magnificent "response" time, if that was the case, then why is it that the camera shoots 3 fps?

Foveon, came out to much fanefare, but has yet to live up to what it promised. Sigma, while making superior lenses has been thus far abysmal as making a camera. They have been slow, underpowered, overpriced and ergonomic disasters.

Meet the T-Mobile G1 {Engadget Mobile}

Sep 23rd 2008 9:55AM "won't be sold at stores outside of a 2-5 mile radius of T-Mobile's 3G coverage area"

That means, with T-Mobile's user base, what tens of these should be sold by year end?

"will require a Gmail account"

Am I the only one that doesn't like this tie in? Why would this be a legitimate requirement?

Android making the jump to general consumer electronics in 2009? {Engadget}

Sep 23rd 2008 9:39AM Stop it, before you give Palm another lame idea for yet another failed Foleo.

Amazon: 6 million DRM-free songs on T-Mobile G1 {Engadget}

Sep 23rd 2008 9:30AM You kidding, right? Do you work for a record label by any chance? You do know that music can be recorded onto CD these days if you need a backup strategy right?

Windows Mobile 7 pushed back to second half of 2009? {Engadget}

Sep 23rd 2008 9:26AM I would rather them delay the release and actually fix some of WinMo's problems than rush another release out for the sake of another release, and then announcing as products are about to hit the market that they are yanking thinks from the SDK like Bluetooth.

The one thing that I appreciate about people buying the iPhone is that MS finally realized that they can't continue with their Spyglass era browser in the phone (why it took them so long to realize this is beyond me). Of course unfortunately the iPhone also helps promote some stupid ideas like omitting cut and paste, but at least MS only omits that on WinMo Standard.

Palm has once again delayed their next gen OS (faux shock), Android is fighting to get a single phone onto the market, and so far has actually delivered nothing but hype. So, why is this delay so horrible? I think they would be shooting themselves in the foot more by releasing WinMo7 early with a feature set that is incomplete or unable to compete than it is to delay it for a month or two (which is all we are really talking about here).
