...yeah...it makes Comcast's new policy look like a godsend. However I don't think they've actually enforced it..since I use them too and haven't had any letters about it etc.

Jul 10th 2008 6:31PM I fully agree with you there. I saw that video of the Softbank line and I went holy sh*t. I'm not trying to be stereotypical..but I thought the Japanese were supposed to be smart? Why the heck are there almost 1k people waiting in line for this phone when they have phones that are lightyears beyond the iPhone's technology? I actually envy their 922SH model..and hope one day I'd be able to get one once someone figures out how to fully unlock it without any "not allowed to remove the battery for more than 3 days" crud (SoftBank locks down their phones really well as I've heard).
Maybe Softbank hired a group of people just to make it look like everyone wants one when they find out it won't do half of the stuff their current phone does? HAAHAHAHA

Jul 10th 2008 4:39PM Here's probably a stupid question..that's probably going to be ignored since there's over 350 comments here..but anyway..in the gallery comparing the iPhone and iPhone 3G..I'm just kind of curious why the iPhone EDGE has full signal bar strength where the the iPhone 3G only has 3. Does the iPhone 3G only measure the 3G's network and not the overall network? I understand it's pretty much the same here (I'm currently using CDMA however and there's a different network for 1X and EVDO I suppose)..but I'm just curious..if you turn the 3G off will it go to 5 bars as it hops onto the EDGE network there in NZ?
