Aug 2nd 2008 8:47AM Some background about me that you likely don't care about: I bought a Mac for the first time when it went Intel in 2006. I have flip flopped a little, but came back to Macbook this February. As a computer geek, it offers me flexibility and the most fun, but truthfully, I am quite a bit less productive on the Mac because of how much one must grab the mouse to click certain things. I type 100-120wpm and I take advantage of that on Windows. And the lack of page up/page down/home/end/delete for me is a real time waster.
I have a Macbook and am looking to buy a MacBook Pro because I desperately want to go 30" and that's because I simply don't have enough screen real estate to easily manipulate a few windows on my 24" monitor when I'm working on a term paper and I'll take anything I can get. (Oh, yeah, not being able to tile windows? Utterly ridiculous. Not being able to size windows from any border? Again, ridiculous.)
So why my post? In the past 2 years I have found so many clients who need Mac help that I can't not have a Mac and that's really why I have a Mac. If I take too much time to think about it, I'm not really happy with many features, and now I'm scared to death to buy a Macbook Pro. When I bought the latest computer with Leopard, I can't connect via the internet icon to my XP machine simply like I used to do with Tiger.
Oh why my post: In New York City, the best Apple service is not offered by Apple. Oh no no no, not by far. It's offered by Tekserve. At Tekserve, you show up and are seen in

Mar 5th 2008 9:55PM The reason the Macbook Air has such a high dumb factor is because the MacBook is the best balance of features and power along with an exceptional design put into a notebook, ever. The MacBook is, without exaggeration, the most perfect notebook computer made to date. The Macbook Air obviously appeals to some people, and in a global economy, if you can sell a hundred thousand and be profitable then why the heck wouldn'tcha?

Oct 21st 2007 4:37PM I did not understand until Apple announced its SDK for the iPhone that there wasn't a plethora of available 3rd party apps for the phone. Apple does not explain that all you can do on the phone is what we let you do on the phone. Please stop calling people idiots for unlocking their phone, it is not reasonable to expect that you can't reset the phone to original factory settings - every ipod, computer, and cell phone I have ever owned allows you to do this. And I definitely had no idea I couldn't download a Gmail app for the phone like I did for my Symbian devices! And no, I do not live in a cardboard box!
I firmly believe that if he appealed that associate's decision to a manager based on the fact that the phone did not turn on, they would have looked at it. Even if he did unlock the phone, when it "bricks" it does not cause it to simply not turn on.

Sep 28th 2007 6:02PM Uhm, as a New Yorker, I take umbrage with "equally nutty" and I assure you that when you compare the News to the Post, you insult the entire News staff.
Yesterday I was at the Obama rally here in NYC - and a photographer was not where he was supposed to be. "I'm from the Post," he says. The doe-eyed NYU girl goes, "Oh wow, the Washington Post sent someone to this rally!?!" For which I laughed so hard I cried, and after he clarified "New York Post" I explained that she just insulted a lot of people from Washington. The Post photographer said, "Thank you, sir," and was on his way.
In all seriousness, the Post is so far out there in every way possible, not just politics, please, don't ever insult us by classifying it as "news".
