Last minute Apple rumor roundup: iPhone HD video out, no new iPod touch? {Engadget}

Sep 9th 2009 12:25PM @Eric

Practicality is why. I don't want to have 2 videos of the same episode/movie which takes up an extra 1/3 of my HDD disc space because the iPod Touch/iPhone hardware isn't up to snuff. For a company that prides itself on simplification and optimization you'd think this was a no-brainer for Apple.

Tegra needs to be in the iPod Touch/iPhone in order to compete on a processing scale. As it has been mentioned Apple's mobile devices have become notoriously bloated and slow. Something needs to be done beyond a simple speed increase.

StarCraft II: Blizzard responds to lack of LAN support {Joystiq}

Jun 30th 2009 10:04AM Hamachi still requires a LAN mode to work.

Halo: Reach is an FPS {Joystiq}

Jun 3rd 2009 2:52PM If anyone here happened to read the Fall of Reach book that this is going to be based off of, at least to some extent you should know where this game is going.

Someone kind of called it already with the reference to Battlefield.

It will most likely be a squad based game as the book goes over the Spartans holding Reach (their home base and training planet) after a surprise attack by the Covenant.

Multiplayer beta would be a great way to start this thing off as most of the game issues will be balance issues in MP which can then also be applied in Single Player (assuming there IS a single player and this game isn't hoping to subplant MAG on PS3 as the Multiplayer Only massive squad game for XB360).

How would you change Apple's Nehalem-based Mac Pro? {Engadget}

May 9th 2009 10:13AM @level5

Sorry I call bullshit. I just priced out a dual 2.26 quad xeon desktop with all the trimmings, and with even some better parts for $900 less than the Mac Pro. Granted that's without the OS, but you can buy OSX and do a hackintosh relatively easy with the loadout for no more than $200 more and it'd still be $700 less than the BASE config of the Mac Pro.

Yes...yes he does.

Rumor: Wolfenstein will likely appear at E3 {Joystiq}

Jul 9th 2008 3:46PM Screw wolfenstein, I want a proper sequel to Soldier of Fortune II. That game was the best military shooter before COD4 came out.

Square Enix E3 lineup loaded with sequels, remakes {Joystiq}

Jul 9th 2008 12:58PM If I want a squeenix remake...I'd rather have that FFVII tech demo come to life on PS3. =/

David Hayter needs your help to write Metal Gear Solid movie {Joystiq}

Jun 28th 2008 11:48PM Ok so this is kinda cheesy, but if he were directed well and beefed up...Hayter could do live action Snake easy.

Joystiq interviews Mark Lamia of Treyarch and Call of Duty the Fifth {Joystiq}

Jun 24th 2008 11:35AM My problem is that he is just making PR excuses for why they are still using the WWII as the primary theme. The fact that they could not communicate with IW on what kind of game they were making to help up the ante on their end is inexcusable. Also if COD4 was developed after COD:WAW started their development and they both have the same development time of 2 years, then someone at Treyarch or IW has access to a time dilation field in order to get COD4 done before COD:WAW. WAW should have been done well before COD4 at that point.

I can only begin to speculate why these events occurred the way they have but either way it sounds like a mediocre design decision for them to continue down the path of WWII...pacific theater of war or not. If they wanted to do a pacific theater of war they should have moved on to Vietnam. There are far more interesting things they could have done with the Vietnam War than WWII in the Pacific (yay we now have flamethrowers...whoopdeedo). In the end you are left with the same weapons we all are used to for WWII (M1AI Carbine, M1 Carbine, BAR, etc.).

It will take a lot more than a flamethrower and Japanese Soldiers with Katanas for Treyarch to overcome the rancid stigma of COD3.

Just my opinion...I could be wrong.
