Nokia's N-Gage coming to PCs {Engadget}
Jul 4th 2007 1:34PM Well most of the issues mentioned were resolved when N-Gage QD was released, and it was the best Value for money phone out there. Games like Asphalt Urban GT, Sims, FIFA, Worms World Party etc... were some pretty cool titles for the N-Gage platform. I still haven't seen half way decent renditions of those games on any of the current phones(Java version of all these games suck big time). It was the best phone (and possibly the only phone) for casual gaming. It was no PSP or DS and should not be compared to them, but was the best phone one could get for gaming as well as being a smart phone at the same time.
If Nokia ever comes out with a next verion of N-Gage QD, I'll gladly pick it up over the iPhone (which incidentally has ZERO games).
Safari 3 for Windows {Engadget}
Jun 11th 2007 3:26PM NOT for Windows XP users atleast!!!
1. Performance is way too slow as compared to Firefox
(and I'm not talking "as a matter of perspective", you can use tools like Fiddler, Charles etc... to compares the performance, its even slower than IE)
2. Ugly UI
3. Shortcut keys are a no go, "Ctrl+Enter" doesn't work, and all the other keys are not easy on Windows user, e.g. to switch tabs its written Ctrl+}, which in Windows translates to Ctrl+Shift+]. Y can't they customize it for windows when they're releasing it for Windows
4. Competition (spelt Firefox), kicks Safari's a** anytime/anywhere/anyway.
Un-installed it after using it for 10 minutes. Not worth the effort getting accustomed to a browser made for Mac but running on Windows. Firefox still rules!!!
Motorola MOTOFONE F3 gets by FCC {Engadget Mobile}
Jan 6th 2007 7:37AM got this phone recently for less than $30 in India with 1 year warranty (Unlocked). This phone had a B&W display and bascially is as low end as it gets. Good for making/receiving calls, and 1 line messages etc.. One can even limit making calls to the entries in phonebook. Good phone to give to children as its durable and relatively dust proof. not recommended for ppl who use text messaging etc...
Display is very clear even in broad daylight, but hey you only need it for dialling numbers right as its not very friendly for SMS's.
